  1. Ha ha ha!!! :(Laughing out loud): Bobby used to sit on the light fitting at our old house and watch us from there, so high and mighty he would cheep his little lungs out, and of course with high ceiling we couldn't reach him! When it was bed time it was so much fun to watch us drag the chair into the lounge room, climb up, reach up to him just for him to fly away and sit on the top of the door or somewhere else out of reach : We just moved house and the new place has only downlight - HA no curtain rods either
  2. Oh :dbb1: I thought green budgies always had yellow faces... *adds Ozzie to steal list* Bea's not going to be too happy with me  Are they always only yellow & green or can you get blue ones too??? Guess I still have heaps to learn! Sorry about your beautiful budgie Daz

He does love his millet, but when I hold it, he attacks my hands as well!!! I would be really worried if I then have 2 budgies that are both agressive. I understand that most budgies aren't super tame, and don't like to be petted like they are a cat or dog, and I would be super happy with Bobby if he didn't bite and attack so much. He really is quite sweet when he's not agressive :dbb1:! He will never let me scratch his head or anything like that, and I am okay with that, but I just can't handle the biting anymore!!! Bea how old was Ozzie when you got him, and was he from a breeder or a pet shop??? Thank for your help though, I do try to spend as much time equally between him and the dogs and the cat has to be locked up when he is out as well, so I can't keep him locked up all the time...

I have tried and tried and tried to put up with Bobby's biting, but he gets so agressive and really attacks me, making angry dolphin noises and taking chunks out of whatever flesh he can grab a hold of :dbb1:. There have been many tears and tantrums on my behalf as I wonder where have I gone wrong to have such an angry budgie. There are heaps of sweet moments, he talks now, and sits on my shoulder and hair and steps up (most of the time) but interrupt him and you will cop it. I am thinking now of getting another budgie and using quarantine to really tame it well, I will get one that has been handled from hatching, from a breeder and with all the knowledge that I have obtained from this forum, hopefully bond well with this new one. What will the consequences be for Bobby if I do this? I am hoping that he will become a copy cat and want to bond with me also, or is it too late for him and he will never bond to me now??? Does anyone think this is a good or bad idea, or have any ideas as to how I may be able to bond better with Bobby... I also think it would be good for Bobby to have a friend, as I work long hours and the house is empty most days.
  5. Right then... the search is on!!! :dbb1:
  6. Isn't it great to be able to get such regular updates!! Goofy is adorable!!!
  7. Is it possible to get a YF type 2 spangled pied??? *dreams*
  8. Daz this is a really clear and easy to follow guide to understanding how the mutations work, I was facinated by the post and have now saved the link for regular reference! One small question I would like to ask is, if a cock is split for anything, does it actually show in his colours, or is it a surprise when the babies hatch??
  9. I am a little fussy about toothbrushes, and after seeing an article on the amount of bacteria they carry, I get a new one every 3 months (new season new toothbrush! ), and boil it every week!!! I have a great pile of pre-loved toothbrushes that are great for scrubbing bird poop off perches, toys, swings, water bowls, bars, grates, trays and wherever else it lands!!! Great idea using the baking soda and salt, would never have thought of it myself!

I am so sorry to hear this, it is a terrible thing to go through. I know how you are feeling, as I had the same happen with my dog, she had 2 operations and after each one the tumor grew back quicker and larger then the one that was removed. It is such a hard decision to make and even when the time came for us to say goodbye, it was heart wrenching and I always thought one more operation, this time she will be okay, but deep down I knew that she wouldn't get better, and in the end she was in so much pain that I couldn't bear to see her suffer anymore. My thoughts and heart are with you in this hard time Terri, and I'm sure no matter what you decide, Pippin would be glad to have lived her life in the most caring and happiest home possible with you. Best wishes Terri, and take care.
