Oh I didn't associate it with the beak - I just thought he is such a beautiful deep colour he might have a dark factor in him!!!

That's how Sunny was too - I felt so guilty last night after I did it - he was holding his wings out and looked so sad - but when he snuggled into me tonight I felt it was well worth it - and he is due to start moulting soonish so hopefully they will grow back in no time!! I am amazed at the instant difference in his attitude...

Would he be a normal green with one dark factor??? I just love his colour!!! Thanks Lovey & Homer for clearing that up for me!!

I was finding Sunny impossible to tame, he wouldn't step up, getting him back in his cage was a nightmare, and he was so bonded to Bobby that he appeared to be afraid of me... So last night I braved the scissors (with help from Bea!) and gave him a small clip. Well I have a new budgie, Mr super tame, has spent the whole night snuggled on my shoulder, preening my fingers and face, letting me pat him, he has completely changed his attitude. Well Bobby and Sunny have been together for a little while now, and are typical brothers. The first day, Bobby wasn't really interested, Sunny stuck to Bobby like glue and has been like that ever since! Wherever Bobby goes, Sunny is sure to follow. If Sunny can't see Bobby, then a series of extremely loud cheeps continue until Bobby is returned!!! <_< Needless to say Sunny has formed a very strong bond with Bobby, but Bobby is still bonded to me Sunny is a bit of a bully too, no matter what toy Bobby is playing with, Sunny will shoo him away, and take over... You would have seen the playgym that I made, they're not short of toys I'm sure you'll agree! Here are some pics of the two of them together... Look at them humans down there... Let's go cause some trouble Sunny - right I'll go first after we have a bit of a preen first and a bite to eat and a play Muuuuuuuuum he won't let me play... Hope you enjoy!!

I have fixed it now!!! I actually let them meet a couple of days ago, I couldn't wait any longer, they were calling out to each other so much, and Sunny hasn't had a minutes trouble since his first week!!! They aren't the best of friends yet, Sunny is a bully!! I will post pics tomorrow!!

Well it's been a while but I have finally finished the playgym! Well for now anyway! I decided it needed another level and more toys.... For two budgies you know... there needs to be room :(Laughing out loud): So here it is - the finished product - except I still need to attach a border to the two upper levels and I think the top level needs another toy!! Any ideas??? Close up of the upper level The two lower levels And the whole lot from a different angle!! The birds love it!! And FYI - I made the ladder by using 2 strands of 2mm fencing wire and screwing tiny little brass eye screws into each end of all the dowel rungs, I then slid the beads onto the wire, then a rung and continued until the end. For the ends I got a small block of wood and drilled two holes in it and threaded the wire through. The bottom of the wooden block had a groove cut into it so the wire threaded through bent in and sat flat underneath. Then it was screwed onto the second level! I just used plastic beads....

Is that YF spangle a type 2??? It is the most beautiful budgie I have ever seen *digs out steal list* They are growing so quickly!!! They are all gorgeous *second glance at babies - adds DF spangle to list!*

I recently took Bobby with me on a camping trip, and we drove home via the Great Ocean Rd, which is a very long twisty windy rd. It took 8 hours to get home, and Bobby sat in the back seat in his travel cage chatting away to himself, sleeping, tweeting and playing. He ate and seemed to really be enjoying himself. I had one perch in the cage and some face washers on the bottom so if he fell it was a soft landing. He had seed and water in one of those water bottles that you clip to the outside of the cage. He also had a couple of small toys secured and he was fine. Good luck with your move

I finally got a proper clicker from the pet store - it cost $6 and here is a picture, it's a bit different to Bea's but just as effective. Bobby has finally realised that click = treat, but he has the idea now! So far I am starting with step-up and it is working well! I started with Sunny as well, and he is stepping up onto my finger!!! :budgiedance: He is still very shy though, but coming out of his shell quite a bit. He will land on my head and shoulder, and occasionally step up, so we are getting there now with the clicker!! This is a picture of my clicker for you Phoebe!

I think we are waiting to see pics of a certain meeting, that occured a few days ago... Hmmmmm :bluebudgie:
