Quite the opposite actually - the only reason I managed to catch him for this picture was because he was wet and couldn't fly He is terrified of me at the moment - just recently I took him into the shower and he fell off the basin with wet wings and landed heavily on the tiles - he has been petrified of me since Although he didn't fly away from me sqwarking this morning when I said hello - maybe he is coming around... It is such a shame actually as he was becoming really tame - he had even started flying to my hand.

Bobby always seems to be in the spotlight as he has the cheeky personality - lately Sunny has decided flirting and head bobbing is quite fun too!! Here are a few poses he has pulled for the camera! I am having a hard time keeping my budgies off the floor No matter what I try - picking them up and offering millet on the playgym, praise them for not being on the floor, I am lost for idea's on what else I can do. Bobby has a facination with his reflection on the stainless steel rubbish bin, (he has a mirror on his playgym) they peck around on the ground, and when I try to pick them up, they run and hide under the couch or coffee table. I really don't want them on the floor - it is dangerous, he could get stood on, or the dogs might get him one day.... I feel like I am constantly chasing budgies around during out time. Please can someone help me with some suggestions and perhaps irresistable budgie treats - other than millet - possibly a single thing that the recognise as a treat.. Thanks heaps

As you may know - I bought my boys a new cage, and as it was so big, it was severly lacking in the toy department. I went and bought some new acrylic swings and some hanging toys, and new rope perches. Well they are TERRIFIED of them... when I put the perches in the cage they cowered in the corner as if I had put a cat in with them. To help ease their fear I hung some millet over them so they would know that these things in their cage is the way to yummy food... at first, Bobby hung from the side of the cage nibbling on his millet, then slowly rested a foot on the offending perch. When he decided it wouldn't hurt him he proceeded to stand on it and enjoy the millet.... Sunny did much the same! I have now witnessed them standing on their new perches on the odd occasion... funny with their nice new shiny acrylic toys (that aren't very cheap) the only thing they seem interested in is the twist tie I used to hang the millet from...

Oh Jenene I am so sorry (((((((HUGS))))))) I hope some of your precious babies find their way back to you...

Wow Karen - what a fantastic job you are doing - the renovations are looking great and you have some very happy looking birds in there already!! Where are all the birds in the meantime - are they ALL in section one?? YAY for the puppies sleeping thru the night! You have been a wonderful grandma!! :bluebudgie: :budgiedance:

It's great that they took the time to answer your questions and even show you around - they didn't have anything to hide so you know you can trust them!! It is great to hear of a good pet shop story - we seem to only hear about the bad ones. You should give them a plug - anyone else around the area might want to check it out too!! (thinking when will I be in Adelaide next ) Congrats on your new budgies - can't wait to see pics!! :fear

I think it may be a girl, it has predominant white rings around its nare (nostrils) which is a trait of females.... I also would love to see an 'experts' opinion!
