Also I will reserve that little green opaline spangle - his name is Peedy and I will come to get him, the melon lookalike and Butter and Chuckys baby... Woodie And Cloud Pics

-
Bobby
They are all pretty close to natural - but the top picture front on is pretty spot on What is the significance of the dark cheek patches?? How about the violet on his wings? Is this normal?

Bobby
I always thought Bobby was a sky blue opaline, but recently I saw some sky blues and they are much lighter than Bobby is, so I thought maybe he is cobalt, but he is much too light for a cobalt, and when you compare Bobby to the cobalt markings on Sunny - he is definately doesn't seem to be cobalt So what colour would Bobby be then?? Another interesting thing I noticed was that the markings on his wings appear to be more violet than blue, and Bea's dad even noted "I love his purple wings" I have posted some pics that are without flash and as close to true as I can possibly get.... Can you help me decipher Bobbys spectrum of colours?? His front feathers... His wings - Can you see the violet shades? Its a bit blurry but I think it really shows the odd colours... Also - there is a vast difference in the colours between his shoulders and on his rump. Sunny's cobalt just for more comparison.

Keep The Bathroom Doors Closed
Poor Bobby has fallen into the toilet once - and as I have a blue block in my cistern, I was worried that it would make him sick, I filled up the basin and rinsed him thoroughly (much to his biting disgust) then wrapped him up and kept a close eye on him, but he was fine, but if I hadn't been on the ball I could have lost him.... Sunny was also found on Friday perched on the toilet seat so the lesson has been learnt - I will NEVER leave the toilet door open again...

More Yes More!

Sick Budgie
I would also be weary of the rust on that cage if I was you. If the budgie chews on it she could get very sick...
-
Wild Budgies At My Job
That sounds wonderful - it is great the these two have managed to not only survive in the wild but also thrive. It gives a little ray of hope to all those out there who might have lost a budgie and thought it wouldn't survive.

Cleo In Incubator
Best of luck for little Cleo - what a lucky little bird to have been rescued by you

Boy Or Girl?
I learnt about 2 seperate food bowls long ago :hap: and 2 seperate millet sprays 2 seperate honey treats (only once a month) 2 seperate cages with identical toys in both okay - typical siblings!!! Thanks!! So would throwing another bird in the mix make it worse do you think? I was hoping I would be able to get one at this bird show this weekend..
-
Come Closer, Please?
OOh where did you get your cage from?? Can I bother you with the dimensions???
-
Boy Or Girl?
Perhaps a bit of both - I want another budgie but I also think Sunny might benefit a bit more as he is so reserved... Right at this moment they are both in Bobby's cage asleep on the top perch (I leave their cage doors open during flight time and they help themselves) Sunny will preen Bobby but he doesn't preen Sunny. They get along probably 85% of the time, just when food & toys are involved. I just read another post by Rainbow regarding Vippins birds, and she likened their behaviour to 2 toddlers - that exactly described my boys... Sunny doesn't want something unless Bobby has it.
-
Boy Or Girl?
Sunny is tameish - will go for a ride on my shoulder and step up when he has too, but is very independant, and has no bond with anyone or anything. He is quite the bully with Bobby and shoos him away from food, toys etc... They are in seperate cages because both of them don't have a cage big enough for the 2. I am hoping that space is an issue and when they get together in the bigger cage Sunny won't be as much a bully - I do doubt it though, as even during flight time Sunny pushes Bobby away....
-
Boy Or Girl?
I am hoping I will be able to get a bigger cage and another budgie this weekend. I have my heart set on a green opaline I have 2 boys at the moment, who don't get along very well. If I do end up with another budgie, would it be best to get another boy, or would a girl upset the balance too much?? I will get a fourth one down the track, I like even numbers, but my chances of taming them I think are greater if I get them one at a time...
