Please Be Careful With Lift-up Doors On Cages
Thanks everyone - it has been a rollercoaster, and I have cried so much... It is such a relief to see him getting better, and he is talking more too

Please Be Careful With Lift-up Doors On Cages
He is really improving heaps now, he is standing on his foot and gripping onto the perch a bit. I think he will regain full use of his leg again

Please Be Careful With Lift-up Doors On Cages
Bobby is getting better :budgiedance: His splint has stayed on untouched since tuesday and he is starting to stand on it again! He is even gripping the perch slightly, so I think this time it should stay in place! The vet said his leg might heal slightly crooked, but it shouldn't affect him too much cause he is such a little bird He is starting to eat more, drink and talk again too!

Please Be Careful With Lift-up Doors On Cages
Well it turns out the avian vet doesn't work on Monday's So Bobby has to wait until tomorrow to get his new splint...... At least the normal vet who I spoke to has given me some more pain medication for him, I am going home in my lunch break to give it to him... Oh I took out all perches and just had him on the soft bottom, but his foot was curled under him and it appeared to be putting pressure on his actual leg, not wanting to cause him any more pain I put in a wide rope perch, so it is only slighly curved, but his broken leg wont even go onto the perch, he dangles it beside him either in front or beside the perch... He is still using anything he can to hold on with his beak, he looks so sad - at least I saw him eating today, he only ate once yesterday, late in the afternoon, I was starting to think I would have to hand feed him something if he didn't start eating soon... Do you think I should give him something else to give him some more energy, or leave him be so that he can concerntrate on being still and not aggrevating it too much??? What should I give him if so...

Please Be Careful With Lift-up Doors On Cages
He's not been too good actually, very sad and looks to be in a bit of pain.. this is how he has been for the whole weekend, and he has a new, bigger better collar now, if this one doesn't do the trick then nothing will This is him gripping onto a perch with his beak, I think he is doing it for balance or comfort, I hope its not biting down to manage the pain... He has been sitting like this all weekend - my heart is broken at the moment, every time I look at him I get tears in my eyes. :dbb1:

Special Time With My Buddy Blinks
They are gorgeous pics Bea, I am glad you enjoyed special time.. you should do it with Oz as well Blinkie looks like a crested budgie in those pics hehe :(Laughing out loud): When Bobby hurt his leg the other day I couldn't stop crying, the thought of not having Bobby in my life went through my head and I couldn't bear it, I love him to bits and that is so true - what a beautiful thought I had people at work laughing at me cause I took Bobby to the vets They really are the sweetest, loving and affectionate pets you could own, without a doubt... Sure my cat purrs and rolls over for a belly rub, when my dog kisses me I have sloppy horrid tongue all over my face But none of them sit on my shoulder, say I love you in my ear and then give me sweet little kisses!!

My Little Mango .
I am so sorry about Mango, it was a terrible accident I have Sunny's wings clipped, as it is the only way he can come out of the cage, because when he can fly, he perches in the highest possible place, and won't come down, if I climb up to try and catch him, he will fly to another high place... But now I am looking after Maximillians birds for 2 weeks, they are all out playing together, they can all fly, and Sunny can't, and he looks so sad when they do a loop around the room and he has to stay on top of the cage by himself, I wish he wasn't clipped, because they enjoy flying so much, and I can tell that he wants to but cant :hap: It was a terrible accident with Mango, but that is all that it was, and it might be a little unfair on your other birds, first they lose their friend and then they lose their flight :fear Just a thought, and I don't condemn or condone wing clipping, this is just my experience with it.

Please Be Careful With Lift-up Doors On Cages
So far, he isn't chewing it nearly as much, I think he is getting used to it. This new collar isn't really keeping him away from it when he wants to have a little chew...

Please Be Careful With Lift-up Doors On Cages
Splint and collar pics, round 2... hehe How long will this one last? His collar isn't really doing its job, he can still chew his bandage... The vet said he put on twice as much bandage as last time And some close ups
-
Please Be Careful With Lift-up Doors On Cages
Yup - another splint and a collar as well - the vet is great though, not charging me for another consultation, just the sleeping potion and another splint... I can't imagine how bad it would have hurt him, he pulled the whole thing off
