  1. it could be anything from a food change to a crop issue, to you have an avian vet you could take him to to get his crop checked out. also just a question did you quarantine your new bird from your existing bird for 30 days?

very cool are you colony breeding is that how the first nest was destroyed?
  4. I agree with Liv, male
  5. I agree, I thought it was cute when someone posted a picture of their bird holding it's tail feather, I tried it with Pretty and Merlin and they freaked, I don't think they recognize it as their feather to be honest.
  6. okay so we all have user names some are just our names or nicknames but some are very creative. Tell us what your user name stands for and why you picked it. I will start . Mine is just a nickname that I started using on the net it is Elly but my really name is Elsa, I used it because though it is not really short for my real name I didn't want to use my real name as my profile name on the net.
  7. There is difference that needs to be confirmed. Is the bird screeching and it is actually calling out or it is screeching in the fear like Dr. Nat said there is a difference.
  8. yep very common , they are afraid because they know the hand can grab and they don't like to be grabbed too predatoral for them. Do no grabbing and continue the millet and make her come toward you inch by inch for the millet and one time when she inches toward you slow push your finger up to her breastbone if she back way let it go but you may find that she will put a foot up.
  9. I have seen stuff like this on the National Geographic Channel, on the show called the Weird and True (something like that), I actually feel bad for some of the animals because they try and keep them alive like the pig that had 2 faces and it looked in more pain and only lived 3 days, there is a cat breeder that purposely breeds cats with deformed front legs just wrong, anyways I know this is just a oddity of nature and not purposely done. Thanks for sharing.
  10. 2 Months Ago in the summer when it was warm When was the last time you went to the movies?

  13. Oh my Kaz, I wish you could wrap that one up for me and send it my way, (not that you would if you could , just beautiful
  14. You have some nice results the TCB are gorgeous .
  15. I agree with maesie with time and dedication she is going to turn around, I think what might have happened is that she became scared because you were grabbing her to force her out and that I believe set everything back but it can be reversed quite easily with persistence. I believe she will come back to her tame self personally you just have to regain her trust.
  16. Glad you had a fun time, didn't even seem like you were gone here since you kept us updated .
  17. Also make sure you are rotating toys and giving them things to do a bird that screams too much it is usually a sign that they need to be enriched and are bored. There are different ways you can enrich bird like having them forage for food (we have a topic on here in the nutrition section), giving them different types of toys like preening toys, things they can chew apart etc... Rearranging their cage 2x a month and giving them different toys at that time is excellent way to nuture their minds. Do they get any cage time out to fly around and exercise? How large is the cage you have them in now? Is it fit for 2 birds or only 1? Can they fly in their cage. There are many factors to look at when you have birds that are having behavioral issues such as screaming. Covering is them is a quick fix but if you don't figure out what is causing the constant screaming then it turns into a habit and an owner that is being driven nuts. If you have 2 together they really should not be screaming like that, Merlin only calls for me which sounds like the screaming but I know why he does it most of the time he is quiet or chattering nicely.
  18. looking foward to pictures and I hope your father in law is okay Kaz.
