Reading this post makes me so happy to know that you ladies are going to have a blast but sad because I am so far away that I can't join in. I can't wait to see pictures!- Our Benny
Everything sounds awesome you have have great patience and it will pay off. Yes those darn windowns....they just attract to them it is nut. I am glad Benny is okay, it is a horrible sound to hear them hit. I looked at my window a could days ago and saw feathers on it this was on the outside and though oh wow a bird must of hit our window well on the ground (the kids saw it) was a robin that was dead I felt horrible even outside birds don't get it right .- Welcome To Melbourne-
That is how it it his here MB, it is 50's one day and well today we have 5 inches of snow we have what is called lake effect since Ohio borders Lake Erie we get the precipitation because the Lake and then Canada tends to blast it over to us too .- Ernest Goes To The Hills!
Since his wings are not clipped I would make sure the first time you do it you do it in a room that is small, all windows are covered a bathroom is a great place to start with the toilet seat down of course. It is a natural instinct for a budgie once out of the cage to fly and go wild tame or not. When they do that it frightens them and the taming that was established can go a little bit backwards. I know he is tamed but maybe think of having his wings clipped 1 time this is a great way for him to get to know know his surrounding safely without hitting a wall dead on and then as his wings come back in (which I find within a month they start to get a small lift) he can gradually start to fly and then when he is full flighted he would know exactly where he is going. Congrats on getting him he is a doll , you are very lucky to have been able to adopt him from a wonderful forum member such as Liv.- Lovely New Cage!
I just wanted to post that it never crossed my mind that you were not a responsible pet owner I consider myself very responsible too but accidents can happen due to maybe not knowing information and that is why I orginal brought up the spacing. I would have to anybody who posted because that is what we do here on BBC we help budgie owners in the caring and raising of budgies responsible. There were many things I didn't know when I started here and that wonderful members of BBC gave me advice (whether I needed it or not) and I am thankful. So please don't be upet that it was brought up but happy that we all care too .- Lovely New Cage!
that is good, I love how you set it up, we do inches here so the bar spacing should be no more then 1/2 inch, not sure about cm, even if you don't think she can it is always best that you have the bar spacing correct :hi:.- Countdown Game.

Very nice cage, couple questions do you house your tiel and budgies together and what is the spacing on the bars for me to look a bit big for housing a budgie.- Resurrection Of The Budgerigar?
well written and wonderful article, thank you for sharing on our site :hi:- The Classic Budgerigar
The pictures are not working for me either.- Sore Leg
Eliza, could you post a picture of her leg? It sounds like maybe it was injured but we can't be sure. Thank you.- Weird Bugs In Seed?
I wouldn't buy seed there anymore who knows how long they have had it in my opinion if it has bugs it probably is not fresh.- Show Or Pet?
If you breed a show and pet budgie you will get a mix and the babies can be bigger. . If she is up to show standard I don't think so but she is cute.- I'm Going Mad
It will be more difficult but it can happen with a lot of time and patience. I would work on being by them all the time when you are home not just here and there that will work best. So if you are watching T.V. have the cage next to you offer millet sprays at this time ONLY at the side of the cage don't put your hand in yet. Also you may think of covering the back of the cage and 1/2 of the sides during the day to get them to calm down and not so spooked. I think you will find them to be calmer.- Countdown Game.

Yes Do you like to fly kites?- Bonding 2 Male Budgies To Us
Just a note because you have 2 doesn't mean you shouldn't pay attention like them when you have 1 because they will tend to go backward if they are not payed attention to on a daily basis , they will only accept you when you want if you give them time that they need from you.- Rip Smiggle
hugs, I am so very sorry- Regurgitating But Nothing Coming Out
You have received good advice. Just a note that most single budgies will find a shiny toy like a bell, mirror or anything that has a reflection to talk to because they see their own reflection. I would also remove any toys that initiate that behavior and only let him play with those toys when he is out of the cage, increased cage cover time works wonders as suggested. Welcome to the forum.- Bonding 2 Male Budgies To Us
The breeding process is not what makes them not bond to you as strong it is that a budgie will bond with it's own species before it bonds with another species (such as us). My experience is as such, Pretty was bonded to me within about 9 months and I feel that I should have had a strong bond before I got another but Merlin was at the right place at the right time and we got him. What I found is that Pretty's bond with me weaken but he still wanted to be around me and he would fly to me etc...but Merlin never bonded with me because he immediately bonded with Pretty. The 2nd budgie will bond with the 1st budgie and the 1st budgie will stay bonded to you but share the bond with the 2nd budgie. If you want to keep a "you are the only" one bond with a budgie then they have to be the only budgie. - Aaargh- Little Boys Are Gross!
