  1. Dave, I can't give you advice on what you will get in terms of size and standards but I wanted to say good luck.

What I find is first thing in the morning when they wake up this is the best time to introduce them to anything new food, toys, play and then after that mid-morning/early afternoon is nap time and then later afternoon/early evening they perk up again and love to chat once again and then evening brings sleep time. If you watch the birds in the wild they act the same way if you listen on a summer day you will find that the afternoons are quiet compared to first thing in the morning where everyone is tweetering around. . Remember around 12 it gets really hot in the day for a wild bugdie so this would be the time they would settle to conserve energy, first thing in the moring and later in the day it is cooling off and so they become active again. It is nature .
  3. They are so cute

Try not to worry to much, give her a written check list on what to do and remember NO air freshners, candlers or irritates for him, when I left Merlin at my in laws he came back with stains above his cere because of the candles that she said she didn't burn but I saw them when I came over to collect him.
  6. kale is also another good choice that is similar in texture to celery leaves

  8. How wonderful, I am so glad these 2 got it together and you have babies.
  9. That is a good idea but I don't think they would be too impressed with this post We have freedom of speech and what is a waste for one person is not always a waste to another everyone cares and sees things different so saying that in a nice way we all have the right to vent in a nice way. If it wasn't for people who didn't speak up many more animals could be abused in fact there is so much abuse enough isn't done. I see it as this if you don't find it as important as the next person and it is not a post that is hurting anyone then don't become involved with it and post anything. So let's keep this post positive so we don't have to close it please
  10. Did she eat any or just roll in it that is cute
  11. I agree, that I really need to eat as healthy as Merlin, in fact I was thinking that maybe they are not all that picky maybe we are
  12. YF2 Spangle Recessive Pied, is cere will stay pink.
  13. You don't have to have them handtamed to let them out, I think if you start letting them out and make sure you only give them food and water in their cages along with millet you can entice them back just like your other birds they were out all day and then came back when they were hungry . If you do it in a smaller room at first you will have more success.
  14. now ducks are so adorable when they hatch just amazing

  22. Elly replied to Hills's topic in Avian Veterinarians
Regular vets usually make misdiagnosis and treat with a spectrum antibiotic vs doing avian testing. I had my own experience with Pretty in this situation. In the end, he could have not saved him but he didn't do any testing either. Now I know symptoms, look at the poops daily, and behavior I would have probably caught Pretty's illness quicker but I can't look back it was a learning experience for me and helps me keep Merlin under check.
  23. Oh yes I agree on Lulu, I missed her. Yes recessive pied.
