that first picture is cute with him/her looking into the camera, you should crop it and submit for Budgie of the Month. I agree I can't really tell the gender because the flash washes out the cere coloring.

They are precious, I had a rabbit very similar to your black and white one when I was younger.

I believe you would do it like any pet you have to observe when they go the most and take them to their cage when they have to go and when they do reward, I would also assume that your budgie would have to be fairly tame before even starting this venture.

The best time to clip is when they have already learned how to fly well, most places here have their babies already clipped by 9 weeks. If you have had your budgie and he/she can fly well then you can clip now.

I believe you should either 1 take her back to the pet shop or 2 decide to take her to the avian vet instead of guessing what could or couldn't be wrong, that is my personal opinion. I know your vet is far so even a regular vet. Good luck.

Interesting topic, Merlin is a violet and he is just fine, Pretty was a recessive pied and passed within 2 years, I believe breeding has a lot to do with weak birds but not the particular color but they have shown that certain mutations are smaller then others.

She is being a bit well "*****" lol but everything is good :reading:, to ensure her behavior doesn't cause her frustration you can cover her for 12-14 hours for a few days to decrease the behavior if it gets worse. But everything is good and she is coming along great.
