I have a couple of budgies that vomit and it fits the description perfectly. I dont know what causes it but the birds ahve been checked by vets and have nothing wrong with them. I have noticed it happens first thing in a morning when it does and probably after they have pigged out just before bed.
  2. If he was clipped before he even fledged then there is a good chance he never learnt to fly at all and thats more than likely the reason he is clumsy now. He is trying to learn how to fly I think. Nothing at all wrong with his clip and any other bird could fly pretty good with those flights. I maybe wrong but it sounds like thats whats happening to me.

1 out of my 9 budgies tried this and Ive tried several varieties all went to waste. But I know birds that love it aswell. Ive got some of the parrot variety for Monty so hopefully he will be more grateful for it hehe.

Ive never fed it to my budgies buy my African Grey loves the dried chilli peppers that come in his mix. So they do not feel that awful burning sensation we do them - how weird is that.

I have that huge white cage and let me tell you its dead easy to clean - easier than my other cages - I would definitely recommend it for sure. Your current cage is definitely way to small for 2 budgies even on a temporary basis.

I have male and female tiels - both are awesome as pets. Just be careful with a young male when he reaches maturity - I have had all kinds of problems with my hand raised male. He got to the point where I couldnt let him out of his cage without attacking me. Thankfully he is just about over it and is a sweet crazy nutter bird. Its true they are less flightly birds than budgies and easier to tame in my opinion. They are MUCH noiser than budgies especially the males who can (not also) scream a lot when not getting enough attention so need lots to keep them occupied - they love chewing ropey and leathery things. Good luck which whatever sex you choose.
  11. Cant wait to see the pics of the new baby!
  12. I would get a male for sure - you have a heaps better chance of them getting on - all my females bicker and fight with each other constantly - I have vowed to never get another hen hehe although I adore the ones I have. I have mixed sexes together but NO next boxes and dont have a problem with mating and the majority are over a year old. I have found that its my babies doing all the humping at the moment grrrr - not with other sex birds though. Heidi with her Trill Topper holder or her rope perch hehe and Beano with LC (they are both males) and its only play I think.

I have learnt almost everything from this site. I dont offer millet or seed treats anymore due to how ill and obese it made my birds. They now get 5 different fresh foods offered twice a day homeade soft foods aswell. They get supplements and regular vet checks. I am now a constant poop inspector and pretty much know if any of my birds are ill which I would have known in the past. Most of all I learnt having 1 budgie is not enough hehe!

A few of my birds chew on my gold chain - I think its fine if its good quality metal - no zinc etc.

LC and Beano feeding each other aww and Heidi and Georgy. This bird is so delicious I could eat her - my Heidi girl. LC with Georgy in the background. Baby Beano. My Patty Poo. Candy, Bobby, Max and Tobi hanging out on the spare cage. Huddled. Tobi girl sitting on the wire of the tiels beak block hehe. Who agrees this picture is to die for? My Bobby. Tobi and Max preening each other. I was taking a picture of Charlie on my shoulder and look who is in the background hehe.

He is scared thats what it means. All my budgies do this when something out of the ordinary is happening. My birds are all wimps though. Im sure it will stop when he gets used to you.

If you look CLOSELY you can see that the majority of the toys are hung to the side of the cage - not dangling through the middle so they take up very much flight space at all. I and my birds like colourful things - I think it makes a cage looks far more interesting for them. Colour makes things look crowded and these cages are far from it.

Kirby, my birds love ALL their toys and have been used to having this amount of toys, they have PLENTY of room to move around and I wouldnt over crowd a cage so much as they couldnt. I appreciate your opinion but dont agree with what so ever. You sound like you must have very BORED birds in a cage that size with only 4 perches but maybe your birds dont get as much out flying time as what mine do. And excuse me if you please but can you count 50 toys! Oh and the birds that I said were squabbling, is caused by one bird who has always been a trouble causer nothing to do with no room.

They are still a bit scared in the smallest cage Elly but Im sure they will settle. Thanks Pixie - LC has turned out to be a lovely natured playful little thing and well Heidi has decided she is Queen budgie and even takes on Patty. She is adorable though and sleeps laid down like she is still in her nest awwww.
