Sounds to me that there could be even the tinest piece of feather left, Ive dealt with this a few times and when the whole feather is removed the bleeding almost immediately stops.
  2. I make bridie bread, cookies, muffins all the time mainly for my CAG but I give the budgies a bit of whatever I am making sometimes they eat it and sometimes they dont.

    Both boys for sure.
  4. I know this may not be a possibility but cant you trim the feathers especially around the beak and face so he can eat and see properly.
  5. None of my budgies were vet checked but they were taken to the vets more recently more often than they should. 2 of my tiels and my CAG came with hatch certificates/ vets reports and DNA certificate (CAG only).
  6. OH NO! Terri, I really hope she is going to be okay. I have her in my deepest thoughts today. You can beat it Pixel girl.
  7. Great shots Bea. I can fully understand how much the touch your lives. Even more so after losing my Candy last week. He was probably the most special budgie I had and to say the least that I would give anything to have him back. Budgies rule hehe!!
  8. Oh I see good thing you told whoever have his Mummy and Daddy. It would be devastating if anymore like Fluffy should come along this is bad enough. Im sure you will take good care of him for however long he has with you. Give him extra special things every single day.
  9. Oh dear how sad. What will you do with this breeding pair now just keep them as pets or find alternative pets homes for them. You obviously wont be breeding them again due to what possible offspring they can produce. Send them to me I'll take care of them!!
  10. I guess I could try find out - the factory is near where I live.
  11. Definitely a girlie girl!
  12. Is it one of those cages with the doors that lift up - maybe it wasnt shut properly and he got his little foot jammed under it and maybe knocked it shut. Without seeing the cage I dont know. But if it was one of these doors I use pegs to clip them shut.

I got my cages from Ebay, the budgies anyways. I got the tiels and Montys from a local store. Have you thought about getting rat.chinchilla cages for the budgies like what I have - they werent at all expensive and are all suitably coated.
  14. I would also leave them but do you have anyone who could drop by and make sure they are okay?
  15. Bobbys having a ball on that hehe.
  16. I could never forgive myself though if there was even one incident where I wasnt there and either species got injured due to a fight. A tiel can do some serious damage with its beak. I just think its all round better to keep species with their own kind. Better to be safe than sorry in my opinion!
  17. I am really glad yours get along. But I would never EVER recommend housing mixed species together especially indoors, even the biggest of indoor aviarys are way too small for mixed species. Definitely a no no.

I agree with Bea Trill is far the best and has the most variation in seed - What Trill are you looking at Daz not the same one as the rest of us I bet.
  19. My budgies dont get along with the tiels they bully then. I darent leave them out unsupervised at all. These days they have mellowed slightly and keep away from each other but I still wouldnt trust them without me being there. When Noo reached hormonal madness he used to attack ME whenever I went near Patty (he is in love with her, its not mutual) and became really quite nasty. He has gotten over that now but is still rather unaproachable when Patty is out. Hopefully Cookie will get along with Blinks and Oz but keep a close eye on them as budgies are no way afraid of tiels.

Wow how lucky are you having a vet living on site - I could sure do with some of that right now!
  21. Ive posted an update across the other way hehe. I find is strange maybe it wasnt an avian vet afterall or they got the dosage wrong could be a number of things - poor little thing.
  22. Could be the poor thing died from stress due to the injection. I have an ill budgie at the moment as you know and I wont let him be injected as he stresses about the smallest of things I would rather syringe feed him myself. Could be it wasnt that be its possible.
  23. Oh thats great - how is she doing today?
  24. My African Grey eats them too my budgies are offered them but arent keen. Its true that they dont feel the heat like we do.
