That's just him burning some extra energy.
  2. I got a budgie at first because it was what my parents thought would be a good "cheap" beginners pet. Well now i just love them for their gorgeous little personalities. My parents are still of the opinion that a $20 dollar budgie shouldn't need $100 vet fees and stuff but i continue to explain that they're worth every cent.
  3. Update is nothing happened. I might try again later in the Spring, maybe set them up over the September school holidays. I put them back in the aviary today as i'm going away for 4 days tomorrow and my brother didn't want an extra cage to feed, water and clean!

Blinkie won't allow Oz to preen him either! I wonder why that is! Very cute pics.

I just went out and collected a few gum tree branches for Blinkie and Ozzie and i'm about to rinse them but i also wanted to put them in the oven like a lot of people have suggested. I have looked around but so far can't find how long and at what temperature you're supposed to do this so if anyone knows and would like to tell me, i'd really appreciate it!

Well that is twice the size of the cage Terri had her budgies in for a while and she had 4, so i would say 4 would be very comfortable. Just one thing. I would try to get rid of the dowel perches and replace them with natural branches. Gum tree branches are perfect, just clean them well first. Also have perches running more from front to back rather than side to side....that way they can fly from perch to perch better.
  8. *sigh* Yup, i had that problem too. I made little seed/honey cupcakes. Added lots of crumble mix and egg and biscuit too for a bit of healthiness. They sort of hold together but not great.

I would still take him to the vets. When i got Ozzie he had very similar symptoms and he needed an injection and medication. Another thing i would do is worm him, as he's new chances are he's never been wormed before. You can get worming treatment from the pet store.
  10. I had a budgie go through an extreme moult like that once. I'm glad he's all back to normal now.

Ozzie in particular is ALWAYS eating. :ausb: ALWAYS!!! Blinkie also rather likes his food...especially if he thinks Ozzie's about to finish it all off!

Why are acrylic toys more expensive? I've always wondered that. Thanks for the link, a lot of those toys i can get for about that price or cheaper from my favourite toys supply place. :bluebudgie:

I think, from my extensive pet shopping research, that there is a standard line of budgie toys available everywhere. Once you've got all of the standard stuff there's not much else unless you're wanting to spend $10+ per toy. :bluebudgie: I'm planning on trying to find some new toys soon, i want ones that attatch to the side of the cage rather than hang from the top.
  21. I want to make some little honey seed treat balls for Blinkie and Ozzie. Does anyone know of a nice simple way i could make these? :bluebudgie:
  22. Bea replied to Bea's topic in Budgie Pictures
:angel1: Not me, honest! I can only do that with Ozzie, he is okay with being petted and handled. :bluebudgie: There's to way i could do that with Blinkie, he freaks out if i look like i'm trying to pet him....i might mess up his feathers! :bluebudgie:
