Eating, calling to her friends, scared of me....i'd say she's doing well. I guess i'll put her back once her scaly face is all better and her poops are back to normal.
  2. I had a similar experience when i bred Lilly and Sandy last year, they weren't feeding their youngest baby. I got a tiny little spoon and fed it about 2-3 drops of watered down egg and biscuit mix, that filled her up just enough to call for food but her parents still didn't feed her, i put her in Buzz's nest box and lucky Buzz and Gherkin took care of her - they already had a few babies though so didn't mind one extra baby. I'm really sorry that you lost your little one.
  3. Millet is good if you don't think he's eating enough. You should try to keep him at about 25-30C i think i've read, how hot does the heat lamp you have get?

They're all so gorgeous!! I love them all.

Here's a short video of Blinkie having a bath: Splish Splash And a few still shots: Ozzie wasn't quite so keen but he got his feathers a tiny bit damp.
  6. :(Laughing out loud): Buster is in love with her! What a cute pair!
  7. I was thinking that he's just regurgitating also. Vomit is sticky and smelly and awful. As Nerwen said male budgies often regurgitate to feed their "loved ones" whether they're toys, food or people.

She's been gobbling up the millet, i'm glad that she's eating. I put her outside on the water heater thingo during the day and she's constantly calling to her buddies in the aviary. She hasn't vomited since Monday so i'm hoping she's getting better.
  9. Looks like scaly face to me too, get it treated ASAP because it spreads REALLY fast. Mention to the vet that you have more than one budgie, all will need treating.

Hehe, i'm such an annoying budgie mum! Check out my new cockabudgie: Gawd i look stupid. *grumbles* Must get rid of embarassing feather. That's it, nearly gone... Oi!! How could you do that to me?!?! You will pay for that! Oh look! It fell out! Hm, that wasn't so hard... Meanwhile evil blue Blinkie sits and quietly mocks poor Ozzie. So Ozzie attempts suicidal leap from the highest finger he can find.
  11. You've certainly got yourself a little clown there! :(Laughing out loud): She's certainly active.
  12. I love the yf spangles, too cute!

Oohh, they're all so gorgeous! Squeaker looks just like his daddy now!
  14. What a neat idea!
  15. I wouldn't have smiled and let him leave happy and expecting a call...i think i would've used some very rude words to describe his attitude. I was thinking today what i would do if i couldn't keep my birds and i wouldn't even trust my closest friends with them, mainly because they don't think of birds in the way i do. They remain $20 pets that aren't as important as dogs or cats.

He didn't say anything about feeding. It was a one off treatment, she shouldn't need it again unless she keeps vomiting. I hadn't thought of millet! Thanks, i'll give her some right now.

I remember that! Odd thing is that your Bluey looked really sick, Jelly hasn't lost weight, isn't lethargic, don't think she's vomited since yesterday and she's not puffed up. Odd isn't it. It appears that she hasn't eaten since i isolated her yesterday, no husks in the seed bowl, i'm not sure what to do about this.

I don't like to use in water medication. As my vet said today budgies are easily able to go for weeks without drinking water.
  19. Sandy and Bubble looking a little soggy. I hosed the budgies off a little while ago, took a few pics but this was the only on to turn out.

Jelly's been vomitting because of a bug/something called trichomoniasis, anyone heard of it? The vet took a sample from her crop and looked at it under a microscope. Then he used a crop needle to give her medication for it. I have to keep her separate and if she is still vomitting in 2 weeks she needs to go back. I'm hoping none of the others will get it because the medicine has to be force fed - taking 19 budgies to the vet wouldn't be cheap. I'm not sure of the name of the treatment but it was a quarter of a little tablet dissolved in a little bit of water. I was right when i said she didn't feel like she was underweight!! 44g!! That's more than even Ozzie and he's my little fat birdy. I haven't cleaned her up because she HATES being handled, i think having a crop needle down her throat is enough stress for one day.

If he's sitting on the cage floor it sounds like he's sick. Is he puffed up and are his poops runny? I think a trip to an avian vet would be a good idea, hope he's okay.

She doesn't have a mate from what i've observed. That and her poops are green and not formed right - she also hasn't eaten. :budgiedance:
  23. What an energetic little cutie!! :budgiedance:

Well she's off to the vet at 9am tomorrow morning - could've gone at 8:10am but i don't think dad would've appreciated that. Hopefully she'll get better. I got an appointment with my fav vet (the one who saw Oz when he was sick) so i trust him. Everyone cross your fingers that she gets well and no others get sick!
