  1. Which one's the male?
  2. I'm getting a new cage for the budgies this week! :fear Most likely at the weekend. The cage i'll be getting is the same as Cookie's but half the height. :glare: We went to the local pet shop that USUALLY has them but of course they didn't have any, just the smaller size which was teeny. Oh well, i'll either be ordering one off ebay or dad will take me out to where we got Cookie's cage at the weekend - which ever gets me the cage soonest and cheapest, (Laughing out loud). Here's a picture of my cage-to-be. (in black)
  3. Yesterday i noticed that Squeak (normal blue) has got blue coming through on his wings, he's never had it before. Do changes like this happen at random?

Cookie can type, makes browsing forums quite difficult as he keeps hitting backspace. :glare:
  5. Today i introduced Cooks to Lord Blinkie and Fat Boy (Oz). I discovered that millet was perfect for keeping the peace - well almost, Ozzie was out to kill everyone that touched *his* millet so he got put in his cage. He also doesn't like Cookie's crest (i think he's jealous) so we'll have to work on that but overall i think it went okay. Here's some photos: (evil Ozzie - cage time) Click here! for a short video.
  6. I just love love love the puppies!! :ausb:

It really needs to be seen by an avian vet asap. A vet will hopefully be able to tell you what it is and should be able to treat it.

I was wondering that too but it appears to be the same stuff as some blocks on another toy i have, if they chew the beads i'll probably take them out but i doubt they will. I really wanted to get a bag of plastic pony bead (just plain plastic beads) but NOWHERE has them. Does anyone know where i can find some?

If you just put a few wet lettuce leaves out for your birdies they'll probably have a bit of a roll in them.
  11. Could you please not type in all capitals, i'm finding it hard to read. I'm sure there are alternatives to culling your birds. There must be. It could be something else entirely too so you really do need to get the little guy to a vet for testing to see what's wrong. Keep us posted.
  12. I got a whole bunch of paddle pop sticks as a prize for trivia on another forum a couple of months ago and have been meaning to make some toys with them. Today i went to a craft store and got some wooden childrens beads and some little bells and got to work making a variety of toys. *cough* what do you mean it's not balanced *cough* (same as one higher up but with cotton string instead of sisal) And here's my helper...although i wouldn't go as far as saying he was super helpful. He spent the time i worked pulling my earrings and hissing at all the toys i made.

Actually, Trill is by far the best seed i've seen around here. Any mix i've got from a pet store has had little variety and has been dusty.

Are you sure he's not eating? Are there any seed husks in the food dishes? Do you know what food he was being fed before you got him? You could try offering him a millet spray to tempt him to eat.

I got Mr Cookie Monster for my bday, i've had him for nearly a month now.
  16. Love the first picture with the pup and dad, the puppy is flying.
  17. To anyone who has both budgies and tiels how did you go about introducing them? Quarantine is over for Cookie on Monday so i'm looking for some tips. It would be really handy if they can all be out at the same time cause then they can all have more playtime but if they don't become friends i can easily keep putting aside separate play times.
  18. I would say it's worth it. I had to pay that amount for a consultation and the ivermectin but a tiny bottle has treated 20+ birds 3 times now with HEAPS left.

    *hugs* Welcome back!! Missed you!

That's so great that they liked it!! It's the only way a lot of my budgies will bathe. Gorgeous pics by the way.

Cute definitely counts. Can you imagine a single day without a dose of pet cuteness? Good luck with getting all your pets to the UK, doesn't sound like it's much fun sorting everything out but i'm sure you'll get there eventually!
  22. I think air happens when the parents are still figuiring out the feeding thing.
  23. I'm so sorry about Smudge. *hugs*
  24. Ozzie's had an injection and it got him better real fast. I wouldn't let Blinkie get an injection though...double standards :budgiedance: i'm so bad. Not so sure i'd let Ozzie get an injection again either.... From the description it sounds like the budgie was too far gone to begin with. I've had budgies that matched those symptoms by the time i got to a vet and despite treatment they died.
