Your plan sounds really good! Please post some piccies when your all done.
  2. Yeah i know, i just say spikeys. It's cuter!

The hen probably ate them. Or kicked them out of the box and another bird ate them.
  4. Well even if it isn't affecting his behaviour a growth isn't good. I still feel you should at least ring an avian vet and ask their opinion. Ringing can't hurt because it'll give you a proffesional opinion and it's cost free.
  5. Hi and welcome to the forums. I think the only person who can help you with your bird would be an avain vet. I suggest that you take your bird to an avian vet ASAP to find out what is wrong with your budgie. Is Tweety showing any other signs of distress or illness? Can you describe his problems in a bit more detail? Bea

(Laughing out loud)! :(Laughing out loud): I read that and then had to think long and hard about what happened in Spy Kids 2 and then i finally figuired out what you were getting at! That's the one with all those weird creatures isn't it? Haven't seen it in a while.

Poor you having an asthma attack when you were trying to help your birds! $20 is really good. It costs us $50 just for the vet to look at the bird let alone do anything! I'm glad your taking your birds to the vet tomorrow, i'm not sure why they would be showing those symptoms.

Your right! It does look a bit hippoish! Luckily they aren't as dangerous as hippos though!
  9. That baby looks plucked to me. They go fluffy before they get those spikey feathers and that poor thing has no fluff at all! See how it's all fuzzy with some spikeys growing through? I think that's how they should be. Are you sure it hasn't been plucked and bullied by it's parent? I just looked at your picture again and noticed your baby has a long tail. That would make it much older than the one in my picture! I really think something isn't right. That baby looks like he's been the victim of a lot of bullying. Is it getting fed? If not you should probably hand feed it so it's getting enough food to keep it going. You should ask a vet how to do this.

Don't provide nest boxes. I had 11 birds in one big cage for a while and the never fought seriously. If your going to breed you'll need to separate the pair you want to breed, otherwise they will have huge problems with other hens.

I'm glad his eye is on the mend. And those babies sound like they're going well too!

Hooray! I'm so happy it's over! Good job little Peanut!

I hope your budgie gets all better soon. I also think you should do some further research before making the decision to breed. It has the potential to cost a lot of money.

Ooo! Make sure you post lots of pictures then! You won't have any excuse not to!

Or get Picasa 2 from google. You can resize it to 450 x something then. Just the right size!

I feel sorry for your poor hands! Your right, they sure can hang on when they want too!!! It sounds like your making good progress on getting them all treated.
  17. Bea replied to a post in a topic in Breeders Discussion
Well i have a program that resizes to just the right size, it doesn't take long either so it wouldn't be any bother. Feel free to PM if you want me to do this for you. About your eggs, if this is your hens first batch then slight delays on eggs aren't uncommon.

I'm glad i could help. Just be sure that if she shows more signs of illness to take her to the vet straight away. If a budgie is showing signs of illness it's usually pretty serious.
