My favourite stage of development in baby budgies is when they are trying to figuire out how to balance on a perch. Blinks took several days and after a week or so he could even scratch his head and stand on a perch at the same time! It took him so many tries to do that.

Ahh... so that's what that was about! I saw the post and got very confused!

A lot of breeders don't use rings, i think if you have no troubles remembering all your birds parents and stuff then there's no need for rings...especially if you're not going to show them.
  6. If she did lay an egg you could just get rid of it or replace it with a marble.
  7. Does she sleep in a position that might push her tail feathers down and close up her butt area? Blinks has had a couple of normal poops stuck to his butt in his life time but i've just pulled them off when i noticed and it hasn't bothered him.
  8. I think you made the right choice. Are you planning of getting a younger hen to breed with or are you just going to leave it?

I've read that if you plan on having 3 birds + have more males than females because males are generally happy to 'share' the females. :(Laughing out loud):

Gherkins a daddy now though, he has a wife and child to think about.

I think if you're in an area where you have to boil water to drink it yourself then the same should apply to your budgies, otherwise tap water is fine.
  14. So sorry to hear this Karen! Don't know how i missed this post. I really hope it doesn't come down to the last scenario.
  15. Do budgies get worms?
  16. How strange! How does she manage to scratch her butt with her foot?? Would be kinda hard.

Maybe he's eating the husks. Can they do that?

Don't judge whether he's eating enough on crop size either because budgies feeding themselves never seem to have full crops.
  22. Did you or anything thing else stress her out? I think i bothered Buzz too much with her first batch of eggs last month and she smashed them all.

I was so paranoid when i separated Blinkie from Razzo. I thought he wasn't eating at all either but as soon as i covered him he emptied the food dish.
