I don't know that you need to change back. Spray the sand so it is wet and then stomp on it so it's all pressed down. Just keep it moist for a while and it will pack together.

Can i just point out that blood on the bars mean nothing other than the bird was bleeding. The bird could have hurt itself on anything at all and still got blood on the bars.

Try replacing the eggs with fake ones. She can sit on them all she likes and there's no risk of them smashing and making a bad smell once they get old. There's not much point removing the eggs because she'll just keep laying! They are stubborn like that.

I find that if you provide something its not good enough anyway and they still prefer to find their own.

Have you got shop bought egg and biscuit mix? You can use that as a temporary rearing food. Mix it so it's not too watery but is still liquid, does that make sense? If you don't have that do you have some museli that doesn't have too much fruit in it? Blend about half a cup so it's super fine and then use it the same as egg mix. Hope this helps!! Good luck!

I would say 3 years 9 months is too old for a first clutch. A lot of breeders say don't breed over the age of 3 and some say 4 but i think most would agree that 3 years 9 months is too old for a first time hen.

Sometimes Blinks sits like that but only if it's a bit cool and he fluffs his feathers over his toes or if he's really sleepy (he sits on one foot and a bit fluffy).
