thanks for all your support,it would seem it was not just kids as mine is the second show stud to be targeted most of the birds taken were hens and my best cock birds but why did they have to do that to the rest or the nests. i do have some birds left at my fathers but these are the older birds that i retired from my breeding programme and although they could breed them i wont as it causes (in my opinion) to many problems. i still havnt made up my mind whether to start again yet as it is to painfull to think about but my wife is nagging me up the wall strat again we will just have ti wait and see

dont know if i will be on here much got in from work this morning and my bird room has been broken into 72 birds stolen or released 43 birds killed 14 nests destroyed with various contents to a few day old chicks to ones nearly ready to leave to nests and ones full of eggs cages broken gear damaged or stolen after many years building this stud up i honastly dont know if i have the heart to start up again.i am utterly heart broken at this time and am finding it a bit depressing evan looking at birds so very much doubt if coming here will do me much good as it will only depress me more talking about breeding ect so i will see how it goes i might be back after the shock enjoy

eye problem
keep washing the perchs as much as possible and the vets for the cream
-
eye problem
could be conjunctivitus and washing it out wont really help as he will be rubbing his eye on the perch (leaving germs there) and making it evan worse he will need cream and his perchs washed as much as possible if it is

Ringing
it all depends on the size of the chicks mine range from 6 days to 10 days

egg tossing
1. of all are you sure it is the hen?is it the cock 2.could it have been done by accident if the cock has entered the nest if it is the hen do you know the breeder ask him if it is a familly problem if it is i strongly advise you not to breed her it could be down to inexperiance sometimes it takes two or three attempts for the hen to get it right
-
Trouble Laying
a very small amount of olive oil added to the seed twice a week make sure the seed is not soaken in it though
-
single parent
the hen should have no problem i had a hen who fed 5 chicks on her own you can put some millet in her nest box as well to help

hi im new and i want advice
hi and welcome there are loads of breeders here in the north east in fact you have the president of the budgie society who lives in sunderland john herring you should have no problem finding a good healthy bird
-
2 males 1 female
if you keep them together the only way in my opinion is not to breed them but evan then you cant stop them coming into condition and thats when you could get the problems
