ensure you have something for the chicks to hide in if the parents start to attack i normally remove my chicks about ten days after they leave the nest as long as i am happy they are feeding themselves leaving them a little longer wont harm them just keep an eye on the parents if they decide to breed again straight away

18 days but the first could possibly take 20 as sometimes the hen will not start to incubate till the second egg id laid i dont touch the eggs at all with my hands this is so i dont pass any germs ect on to the egg but i do check the nest box twice a day this is to ensure the hens good health not the eggs i start to touch the chicks around 6 to 10 days this is to ring them and then i leave them alone touching them when i clean the nest out and cleaning their legs i start to hold them around 3 weeks

which mutations ? i wsnt knocking the persons point as i am not going down the wing clipping road i just pointed out that that fact was wrong
  13. hath replied to a post in a topic in Budgie Talk
you do not cross breed to get a blue budgie they are a natural ocuring mutation the same as spangles nobody set out to breed them they just happened and you do get different mutations in the wild they just stick out more and this makes them easier for predators

as it is a yellow mass it sounds like a prolapse you can push it back but i would strongly recomend a vet (just in case it isnt)

i think a lot of pet birds moult all the time because the conditions dont change ie temp food water light
  20. shes just out of breeding condition no worries
  21. hath replied to ~The Netsta!~'s post in a topic in Aviaries
with show birds in the uk you start to breed in the winter i like to keep the temp around 5 to 10 degrees the light is to give them 12 hours of light to help bring them into condition so yes i do need the fancy lighting and heat but if you have a outside avairy for pet birds then no i keep some at my dads and they have no light or heat but they dont breed

you do not put pet shop products in the water for scaly face they do work but the downside is the treatment has to be repeated so stresses the bird evan more the best cure is ivomectin as this is only given once,i doubt this is scaly face though as you say its a fungus scaly face looks normally like a coral or sponge so i would definatly take to a vet if it is fungus
