  3. Hi Krosp.... I do not consider myself a "expert" in budgies by any means....but what you are feeding your birds is excactly what I do....a good seed.....(at a guess yours would be better quality being Trill as I know it is quite expensive).....veggies every other day or daily.....egg and biscuit, a bit of apple and orange and a bit of millet spray....fresh cool clean water daily, love and attention..... :fear Cosmo has been unwell of late so maybe he is making up for lost time...?? I don't think you are doing anything wrong....I don't think you can get much heathier than what you are doing....

  13. I'm sure this is on the forum somewhere, I have done a search for "safe foods" etc....can't find watermelon....is it okay?? Thanks
  14. Thanks for getting back to me on this Renee..... My birds didn't go into a major moult either, mainly pin feathers around the head and neck area, but it was all my birds, I know this cause I was waiting for a few to be free of all pin feathers for a few months before putting them in the breeding cabinets, a few weeks or so after thier "normal" moult....when I did pair them up is when I changed seed and a few weeks later the pin feathers were coming through again.... I got the same bag as I did last time and made sure they would have the same brand in a few weeks time so that should take me over the last few that have chicks/eggs now, I won't be breeding over summer as its way to hot here in QLD...I don't have a proper "bird room", just outside and it's WAY too hot..... So I guess the jury is out for me as well......
  15. Charming..... The experienced members on this forum pass their knowledge and time for free, they don't have to be on 24/7......The time it took you to write this uncalled for post you could have phoned/gone to an avian vet....
  16. Thanks Kaz, will do that today....

  23. I have a clutch that are still in the breeding cage together with mum and dad, the first chick hatched on the 30th of September and the others a day or two after so the eldest is about 6 weeks old.... Mum has now gone for a second round with 1 egg in the box. I think I should take the babies out now and put them in the kindy cage as they seem to be eating on thier own okay now. Is this okay to do?
  24. G_B, this is probably what you don't want to hear, and I don't mean to make light of a bad situation for you at all, but these are the sweetest little poppets I have seen.....
  25. Thank you G_B and Ellkeiremi!! I had a bad last clutch where only 1 chick hatched and she ended up passing away, so I am over the moon with this lot!!
