Thank you and yes I can do that I will do that now.......thanks again Thank you to everyone that helped me...I took one of my sick birds to the Avain Vet and he said he had "Enteritia" - sometimes caused by feeding "human" food? which I never do, but one of my new ones would have bought it in, I will quarantine for 2 months now! I lost 10 of my babies all up, buts it's over now - learnt my lesson the hard way..... Recently bought 2 "bush budgies" and 2 normals....so I can build up and start again.... Thank you all again. Can you get a hold of some coccivet asap ? I went to see a breeder today that I normally get my birds from and she gave me some: CHECKER FLIGHT KEYSTAT - COCCIDIOSTAT SOLUTION - CONTAINS AMPROLIUM AND ETHOPABATE? Hope this is okay??

Hello and thank you for replying.... my avairy is on pavers under the pergola, it has been raining here for a while so it is damp......not sure about the mice I have my seed in a sealed plastic container....The Vet I went to was not a bird vet...there is one about half hr drive away that I could go to after the easter break....

Hello everyone...... I only became a member yesterday, after being a regular "reader" of this site...you guys all sound so nice and full of experience....... I am having a really bad time at the moment with my budgies, I have lost 7 and only have 5 left and a few of those are not looking too good. I bought a larger second hand avairy and I had 2 birds quarantined ready to add to my flock. I scrubbed out the avairy with a mix of bi carb and lemon juice and rinsed it heaps over a week - the following weekend I added all my birds including the new ones - within a few days I lost 1 bird - just dead on the ground in the morning for no apparent reason, I then lost another one.... I then took out the ones that were puffed up (3), with pooey bottoms, and lethargic and put them all in seperate cages..... I took one to the vet and he wasn't very helpfull at all really, he gave me some stuff to put in their water - I lost 2 of the ones a seperated - I then took all the others out of the avairy again and scrubbed it this time with a chemical disinfectant and rinsed with the hose every afternoon for a week so no residue was left - that was last weekend - they are still dying, they seem to be eating heaps but staying very thin and sitting puffed up....I don't know what to do ... what have I done wrong???
