Thank you Chrysocome, A few more pics...... I feed, fruit and veg - coreless apples, cucumber, silverbeet, corn cobs, mashed boiled egg (with shell), 3/4 times a week..... When I compare his beak to my other birds it doesn't seem any different......to me. Can I post a 15 second video taken on my camera to photobucket and supply the link....then you can see what he does???

okay Guys, These 2 came out of quarantine 1 week or so ago, I'm going to see if I'm right with thier colours. The below is SKIPPER. Female blue spangle????? And Sparkey...... Male....Normal blue???? How did I go???

Hi everyone, My Austin has been looking "weird" when eating seed for a while now..... This is really hard to explain, but he sort of rolls the seed in his mouth, and opens and closes his beak wide :question: not sure how else to explain it...... Maybe his beak needs trimming? none of my other birds do this.....or would it be a more serious underlying condition? He is healthy, his feathers are beautiful, he is very active - it's just the way he eats? Any thoughts from the guru's....??

Hi Guys, My head hurts.... I have been reading the forums - FAQ's for hours...... Q.1 Am I right in thinking that (for me) no matter what the mutations are of the birds I have at the moment we can only make an educated guess on what the offspring will turn out like?... for newbies like myself that have no idea what the parents are of my birds, that when bred they could throw anything? Where is you guys know the mums and dads - grand parents - great grandparents with most of yours?? Is this a big factor in breeding colours/mutations that you want in your flocks? how far does it go back to make a difference to now?? Not that this is bad - suprises are great......for me anyway... Q.2 Please explain what "TYPE1" and "TYPE2" are?? Thanks in advance to those that help me understand.......yep I'm blonde!!

Thank goodness !! he/she is soooo cute!!!!! You've done a great job keeping him alive....well done.... If there is a nesting box/boxes in your cage/avairy I would remove them as soon as you can, It might deter mum from laying more eggs.....
