I come to this forum for help and advice often, also to learn as much as I can about my birds, the way I do this is by reading other peoples experiences from thier posts and asking questions as silly as they might seem. The senior members share their knowledge every day, so if people put the questions out there they should expect a response, whether its what they want to hear or not.....I personally want to try and do the right thing by my birds and listen to the advice given to me... Before joining this site I bred young birds without knowing they were to young, I did it twice....I lost 1 hen from being egg bound, and I lost 4 chicks that the parents just lost interest.....yes this could have happened if they were older I guess, but now I am aware I would never risk it again....

what date is on the ring he is wearing....cere colour does not mean he is over 12 months.... NO !! He is wearing a blue ring. These were issued September last year..........so he is anywhere between 6 months and under. COLOUR of cere only is no indicator of old enough to breed. Well as I found out this morning the cock in question has an iris ring in one eye and not in the other..... So I guess I'll never know.....

Vetafarm is great for stuff like that, but I also often find their products in 'some' petshops. Another online supplier I use for my other pets is Pets Megastore. They also stock vetafarm products. Maybe check their prices and compare. I live near them so I can save on postage too. You can get them elsewhere too, just make sure you go for the proper brands and not the cheap pet shop stuff. Vets are good too, but sometimes charge more. ~~ as an example, I purchased a probiotic the other day, and it was $11.50 25g and $18.50 90g from Pets Megastore, or $14.20 and $18.25 from Vetafarm. I got the smaller one, and saved a few dollars. Postage wise... Petsmegastore is $6.50 in AUS (but now $4.95 as a special) I don't think the weight of the product comes into in... unless you got something massive. Maybe check regarding this. Vetafarm is 0-500g $5.50 500g-1Kg $11.00 1Kg-40Kg weight based and can be calculated at checkout before you confirm your order. Location wise, Pets Megastore is in Geelong, which for those of you who don't know, is near Melbourne, whereas Vetafarm is in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This will obviously influence postage times if you need something quickly. I have no experience with Albinos, and was wondering if anyone has a albino cock they could post a picture of so I can learn what the ceres look like..... There was one at a produce store I went to yesterday, but couldn't tell the sex? Are their ceres coloured the same as recessives?? Thanks

Well.....eating and chirping....but spending a lot of time on the bottom of the cage. She is not fluffed up, is quite active....after a while it seems to get too much and she goes to the bottom of the cage?? What do others think?
