  1. great pictures
  2. I think it was becuase I was too chicken to simply remove them in the first place. Some good news is I have finally seen some bonding happening with Reepicheep and Kazza (cage one) this lot of eggs may be clear but I leave them in together the second clutch may give better results.
  3. Yes it is a bit, it gave Berry the chance to continue laying eggs with a better chance of being fertile.
  4. Agree with Kathy :dbb1:
  5. Yesterday morning I decided to move Berry's (cage 2) first two egg into Reepicheep's (cage 1) box and remove her clear eggs. This was just in case of the slight chance that Berry's where in fact fertile. I have checked the eggs again now and found veins in Berry's third egg and the slight start of veins in her 4th egg. With Reepi sitting on 7 eggs all up (all clear) I will remove the fostered eggs as well. Still no egg from Ringo (cage 3). Thistle (cage 4) has three eggs but hasn't started brooding yet.
  6. Norms correct there is a chance of normal white face blues with these two if they are both single factor yellowfaces.

http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=9578 Spangle pictures. It's there the wing markings are a thin black line. Yep.

There is still a chance that we are wrong many times the cere of both of them look very similar. However a young male budgie will in fact have a very bright pink cere not blue. Mixed colours (from pinks to white) and light blue are a sign for a young hen. This Thread has a lot of pictures of young birds to help show the difference between male and females. Sherbert is a cutie. She is an opaline and I think a greywing spangle. Greywing becuase her throat spot are grey not black
  10. good luck.
  11. Update: Cage 1 Kazza and Reepicheep have 6 eggs, although still not bonded. Cage 2 Kree and Berry have 5 eggs. The first two may be clear but she didn't start sitting fully until egg 3. She is getting protective too. Cage 3 Poka and Ringo have no eggs. Still spending time together in box. Cage 4 Pie and Thistle have 2 eggs.
  12. so you are
  13. If this is her second clutch it could be stress causing her to eat the eggs.
  14. such great pictures. *cough* Budgie of the month competition *cough*
  15. did we confirm these mutations? I'm just asking becuase in these pictures the recessive pied male looks to be a normal green not YF, as with the other male. YF normal male to lutino hen: Green normals All males split for Ino. All offspring either split for blue (whiteface) or YF blue. Recessive Pied YF 2 Male to Recessive Pied Spangle hen: YF Recessive pied Recessive pied blue YF Recessive pied spangle Recessive pied spangles If he is in fact a green series bird then: green Recessive pied green recessive pied spangles all offspight split for blue.
  16. love them love them love them
  17. What do her poops look like? Is she and cupid still at it? or was more a one off thing? Some hens will remove feathers around the vent area when mating/breeding.

What a cute little Girl. It's great work to already have her on her finger even for only a short time, kep up the training.
  19. It is bad if they do it with out stopping for most of the day. In a running about I'm in a fun mood time it's fine if it happens each day. It's great that he will get on your finger already. Use millet as a reward tool. Most budgies will do anything for it. Start moving your hand slowly around the cage while he is on your finger to get him use to the movement as well. A lot of budgies don't like head scratches so if you keep at that it may take a while.
  20. One of my first batch of babies who lives with my friend does this it is funny to watch. Keep eye one it becuase it can become a bad habit ( continuous daily) I know he is just new so the normal thing suggested (out of cage time) isn't possible. Have you started hand taming yet?
  21. They make such a cute bugging sound when just hatched. As long as you see a small touch of yellow in the crop all is good. They don't get the big swollen crop as seen in some pictures until older.
  22. Mine get it raw. As for getting them to try the fruit or new veggies mixed with in together with the carrot.
  23. It sounds more like he is 'panting' than it being open from a out of line beak. This could be a sign of illness, it is good that he is eating. I would also suggest a trip to your avian vet since you are already worried and it's better to know for sure than later on when all your birds could be affected.

Congratulations. We do love pictures here. He is a young one with the bars to the cere. What colour is the cere? it seem the pet shop workers always guess male no matter what, maybe it becuase that is what most people what to hear.
  25. Some handle form day one just to give them a quick check over and such, the handling to start tame them down somewhat is normally started around the the two week mark.
