goldenface is still part of the parblue gene group better known as yellowface... it is jsut a strong colouring of the yellow. The bird is still a blue series bird not a green series. What colour are the feathers under the wing?? I would think he is the farther of the unknown chick, it would be more probable to have a greywing chick appear in a clutch with the known parent with the gene than a pairing with possible splits.

YF type 1 to YF type 1 will give you double factor YF type 1 babies that appear white faced but will only produce yf babies (when paired to a blue line bird) type2 will still show as yellowface double factor or not - although the double factor bird can appear more patchy in the colouring on the body. what is your pied paired to??

the colouring of the cere seems evenly pink, that link of white just looks like reflection of light in the picture. I would also look for a change in colour to say hen. looks male to me. the other two are hens

Ino and cinnamon are sex links traits and he has a 50% change of been given either of the gene (carrying them) only way to be sure is to get one in his nest. Recessive pied is a recessive gene so both parents would have been split for it for a sibling to appear. He will be split for that gene. Greywing is a recessive gene and he will be split for that gene as well. Yes the father was split for blue, but Oliver is a blue based bird. Neville - ahh yes, I mixed that up with the recessive, there is a chance the parents didn't pass on the recessive gene on to him (both gave him their normal gene) so a test breed would be needed to find out.

i'm lost on what you are calling 'mauve grey' these are two different things in budgie genetic - mauve is a blue bird with two dark factors, grey has the grey factor gene. mauve violet would be different from a violet, although i'm sure some are willing to dump any violets into the same box if not interested in the gene. looking at that hen... her cheek spots are dark which is a sign for violet, and her body is a mix of blue and grey which is what you can see in mauves.

clearflights OR Dutch dominant pied were first recorded in the UK area. Dominant or banded or Australia dominant pied were recorded here in AUS.

would need a front shot and tail shot of the cock to be sure on colour, he is a type 2 as is wings have yellow on them. he might be a violet as his cheek patches look dark, which makes me thing grey is wrong for his colouring. the hen is a skyblue dominant pied. congrats on the bubs

it is very faint Pearce - just above the cere you can see a pale yellow. Plus talk of a tourqoiuse tone in the body is a yellowface trait.

well looking at the recent photos looks like a hen - but if i saw that last one alone I would agree with Pearce and that the bird is a cock.

the back on is a yelowface skyblue - type too hard to tell with the lightness of the picture again flash on front one has washed out the colours to tell, olive or greygreen - will need to know the tail and cheek patch colouring
