top row is skyblue, bottom is cobalt. now it does't have to match perfectly but the closest to that colour would be the type. Or it could be that both have the violet gene.

neither of the two older chicks look spangle to me as the two middle tail feathers are all black (to be spanlge the bit still in the sheath should be white with only black tips) agree with the last as a DF spanlge. the first two with the last pair (lutino and spangle) are opaline - clear bodies and white down. so they are hens unless the mother is masking opaline.

i don't recall a limit, tho i've heard of other mixing up the ones they have learnt or spitting out something that wasn't been trained.

yes this is possible as they are all different genes. and yes greywing is recessive so both parents are split for the gene.

Lochlan - true but the cheek patches are still dark, normally darker than these ones

pearce you read that wrong it was 25% no GREY factor - meaning normal greens. what was the issue with breeding Ino's together again? I always thought it was to do with sizing.

tail feather has been affected by the pied gene and so not useable to tell the difference. cheek patchs are normal blue meaning he isn't grey-green. they don't appear dark enough for me to suit either olive or violet green. Which leaves us with dark green as the answer.

actually that last one did give good advise, if you are changing food for one so young mixing them together and slowly changing over is the way to go so it isn't a shock to the system. handle him as often as you are happy with but be sure that he can sleep when he needs to... handling him now before he can fly means he will be use to use once grown and will be tame. when young like that they will chirp often to parents and siblings.

check with your work if they are happy with an animal there ..that is a great way to keep an eye on him. you can make a heat lamp with a desk lamp if you need to, over one part of the box so he can deside how close to the heat he wants to be. since you spoke of adding water to that food and using a spoon you have some sort of hand rearing mix from them. wow I've hear of pet shops doing this but this is the first time i've seen it.

usually the hen doesn't sit and brood correctly until around the 3rd egg, this cuases the first few to hatch either the same day or a day after, then it even back out the the 2 days hatching for the later eggs.

why blue blues only?? you can have 2x of all in the green line as well and all we know could help with the darkening of the head feathers. i can see the logic behind using the blue line as darkening of grey gives black but have the yellow mixed in with the heavy flecking could darken the head feathers better. we don't know for sure.
