  1. Ringo - this cheek patch is white Her other side is blue (yellow bird)
  2. not carrying the gene it is just a part of the genetics. you have a normal dominant pied bird
  3. *Nerwen* replied to *Nerwen*'s topic in In Memorium
not currently Daz thanks tho mate
  4. You stated 'cheeks' as in the patches on the face, yes it is very common for pied birds to have that, blue is normal and normally the other colour is white.
  5. the grey-green i'm not sure could be a badly marked DEC's or just recessive pieds, which the grey one looks to me
  6. i wasn't saying Millie can't be opaline still just that the dad in those pictures doesn't appear opaline now, his body colour has been affected due to his mutation but his wings are still yellow, which is normal for a green line bird
  7. from those shots of the dad it is clear now he isn't opaline but it doesn't mean his daughters can't be. millies sister isn't opaline
  8. *Nerwen* replied to *Nerwen*'s topic in In Memorium
thanks everyone for the support, the others of the family are all doing well
  9. i agree with Pie the down looks to be white which is a sign of Opaline in a chick. also the dad looks to be an Opaline from that picture as well (Grey toned tail so maybe dilute?) any chance of a picture of millie today??
  10. sorry Elly that cere looks pale blue to me not at all pink as you would have with the recessive pieds. the cere can take after the moult to turn to brown in some birds. she looks to be yellow face as well.
  11. she does show signs of being young as the colour hasn't bleed a lot into the body. but her cere is a light brown she should also be showing faint signs of an iris ring if she was to get them. i would say about 6-8 months
  12. I'm stealing him Kaz!
  13. OMG I'm so sorry to see this they were beautiful birds and taken from you way to soon. hugs
  14. i would agree with the Opaline as well, she is beautiful.
  15. I'm with neville and kaz and Jen, that tail is not the normal colouring for a normal green.

tons of rain in my area last week, cuase a few of my little flock to die. I believe due to night fright as most i found at the edges of the cage. Fly free: Pie Echo Berry Tootie Razzle Minka Ewok All lost the same night. The others are bright and eating well.
  18. both are normal bird, dad is split for opaline tho as the second oldest in that first picture appears to be skyblue opaline
  19. If paired to either another dark green or olive bird
  20. as Daz said green and grey mix so you will get 50% grey greens 50%greens. not ixing in the chance the male is split for blue
  21. oh yes sorry clearwing not greywing. not violet cheek patches don't look dark enough
  22. Yellowface greywing cobalt
  23. the blue just means both parents are split for blue. looks like the others might be grey-green as the oldest. I don't see any planess to the wings or opaline signs
  24. i think it was an old member called hommer that had markins like that on his young bird too. as neville said they normally disappear after the moult. the yellow is bleeding to the wings and chest making it a type 2
