  1. i was wondering about her and the second male posted... be felt sure you added them only once being sure of the gender
  2. *Nerwen* replied to Daz's topic in General Discussions
yeah acrilic if framed like that, oils aren't normally behind glass
  3. keep in mind i don't know about picking good partners for show breeding. but I would look at using the skyblue with her. Unless you want to use the spangle again (sorry fave mutation here too) but i like the look of the sky blue
  4. so is that a pot luck deal or something you can pair to to improve?
  5. normal and a pied both cute, your second guy must have little feet
  6. agree IF the chick is violet (not 100% convinced on that yet) the mother has the gene, if not then she is dark green meaning she has one dark factor gene. I don't see opaline signs (there isn't a v of colour showing on the back and there are markings in that space as well) Pied- yes the recessive signs are showning more now spangle - yes the marks are showing up as spangle, as stated before cinnamon - the marks on the wings do look brownish... but the head bars are black. it could just be poor markings on the wings but time will show for that.
  7. sounds slightly like sneezing. does he do it often?
  8. i would agree with hen the others are too young for me
  9. that's right, pieds can get some white down as well and INO's will get it as well.

Beautiful As to medium - oil or acrilic
  11. Oh thanks Kaz totally missed it there- *thinks it might be time to get eyes checked* Good advise too clean it while you can to at least make the bird's life better and maybe give little hints to the guys as they seem to have been lumped with the care.
  12. your chick i think is Rec. pied as others and myself stated above. I shared the pictures to show the white down feathers that Daz was talking about. She had normal wing markings.

Yes I would think Violet with those shots, as their blue is darker than the normal cobalt. She is an Australian Dominant Pied - different to the clearflight pied
  14. yeah the birds and others animals would have to travel further out now to find food.
  15. a round cage clearly a first time buy and the pet shop would have made the sale with the cage as well. Where is the water?? budgies might not drink alot or often but they still need it.
  16. yes the first must be male. as the father is albino he would have given that gene to ALL his offsping, as it is a sex linked gene any females from that clutch will be albinos, all non albinos will be males
  17. well the hen is a spangle which has much pied breeding into the line from the start (check to see if she had a head spot) there is one or two feathers down near the bottom of the wing showing spangle markings. let some feathers show some more to be sure. but for now I would lean towards Rec pied

sorry not one to stare at liz taylor eyes. did you notice the colouring of the cheek patches at all?? If you think he is pretty and you will be able to handle having two birds, and them most likely bonding closer together than with yourself then sure pick him up.
  19. she will be a cobalt (one dark factor) with those parents. He looks like a type 2 like i'm sure i've stated before elsewere here as he seems to have yellow on his wings and patches of green appearing on his chest. Outcome: skyblue normals yellowface type 2 skyblue normals skyblue greywings yellowface type 2 skyblue greywings cobalt normals yellowface type 2 cobalt normals cobalt greywings yellowface type 2 cobalt greywings all non greywing chicks will be split the gene. all male chicks will be split for the INO gene
  20. *Nerwen* replied to Pearce's topic in Budgie Pictures
Oh I want her brother too She is a opaline spangle darkgreen Pearce - i would want to see some shots of them (being the yf blue sisters) with out the flash to look at the violet or not
  21. *Nerwen* replied to Pearce's topic in Budgie Pictures
The one on the right is your dom. pied
  22. *Nerwen* replied to Pearce's topic in Budgie Pictures
nice birds Birds on steal list: The opaline spangle hen, the yellowface dom. pied hen and the yellowface grey hen
  23. teehee...well first i would have to discover what a cattle fish is before being able to test the affect on a birds beak. Yeah really can't tell if these are kids just trying to understand (although it makes me fearful for the future ) or just people out for a laugh in the answers/reactions they can get
