  1. there is 2 in there without names and brother and sister. i missed the sister in todays shoot, but they look the same.
  2. been a while and i was in a photo mood today so here are the inmates. Echo Berry Kazza Kree Melon Reepicheep Poor guy never got a name Dash in front. Razzle behind Kringle Squash Dazzle Dot Storm, having a heavy molt Elle Minka Pie Razzle Poka Unnamed, Kazza, Echo
  3. okay keep in mind i don't know a lot about picking pairs for showing. but here are my answers Cock 1 with hen 4 - to not mix in any other wing patterns into the TBC. cock 2 with hen 3 - double factor spangles and I might be wrong but he seems to have the longer mask and her the bigger head (blow area) cock 3 with hen 2 - if you like blue splits in the stock (some dont) i think you could get some nice sized birds together cock 4 with Hen 1 - same as nubbly together they should give some nice headed young.
  4. great pictures pearce, you might have to start adding an arrow to mark out Tiny soon. Grey-green's cheek patches are a blueish grey not totally grey. Depending on the light and the flash used sometimes the blue can show up more in pictures. As to the opaline - i could be wrong but i think Daz is meaning the hen as a lot of throat spots is from the opaline gene.
  5. i was thinking more Olive for the rec. pied than dark green
  6. yeah honeyeater was my guess too. they are common around here, my front yard gets lots of them visisting.
  7. - Can I even know whether Cosmo is YF2 or goldenface? yes - If so, how can I tell which one he is? with that strength of colour on the face i would say goldenface would suit. the reason people stated only yellowface before was because he was a baby and still had the softer tones of baby feathers. - Would everybody agree with this classification? do you all?
  8. very cute and yes he is a DF domiant pied. this means he has 2 gene for the pied gene making him lost more markings and colouring on his body. the signs are none to almost none markings on the wings. your yellow bird on the right is a single factor dom pied so you can compaire the differance in them
  9. As Kaz states it is a normal occurance in Double factor dominant pieds. Looking at your sig he shows signs of matching that. Does he have many markings on his wings?
  10. Yellowface 2 and goldenface - there isn't a big difference. although in one book they give the name goldenface to a parblueblue - meaning an offspring of a parblue (yellowface) and an blue. they tend to have a deeper yellow in their faces and get more yellow bleeding into the feathers. detailed reading: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/c...er/yface01.html
  11. both parents would have been split for blue, one of them having the yellowface gene or both of them.
  12. since recessive pied is a smaller bird I believe that pairing is best to add size to the bird. But daz would give more info i'm sure

have you only jsut been given the birds? maybe remove the box and let them rest/ settling in if that is the case. moving to a new area can add stress to the birds which isn't healthy for breeding. If you have had them longer than make sure she has some calcium as the production of eggs may have reduced that in her body.
  14. Hansome little man there Zebra.

Doh, now that is all i can hear! Thanks Dave Hi Ian, look forward to seeing you around the site and the piccies.
  16. OMG Kaz she is BEAUTIFUL! and how she has grown! Casper - beening and Aunt is a great treat...you can spoil them rotten.
  17. Beautiful pictures. and welcome. a little harnes around the bird's body to take the bird outside, there is a little attached lead as well. normally used for the larger parrots but there is the smaller size as well
  18. NCIS is cool, planning another team member for the pied? Probie?
  19. the plan is well thought out and you sound happy with it which is a big point. Also in-between now and when (if) you have two together what about re-arranging the cage and introducing new toys (doesn't have to be shiny ones) he will be stimulated with his environment again that way.
  20. not from my knowledge, the down are both grey and the pins would be dark to start with
  21. thansk Jimmy, saddly i get all the birds mixed up with all the posts. you could tell for sure by now just by looking at the middle two tail feathers. clear (yellow or white) - spangle, black - not spangle
  22. some sort of perch like that pearce yes. i might start to seem like a pain here, but WHY is everyone saying opaline?
  23. burkes parrot or a Rosella type was my thoughts
  24. http://littlegreendarcyaviary.t35.com/spec...slightgreen.jpg this is a opaline tbc. as i was trying to explain, the wings do not get affeced by the TBC gene (only the fights) so they show the the normal colouring of the body (if the bird was a normal)
