  2. If only taking the time off would be that easy :budgiedance:
  3. if you look close there is an iris ring in the picture. Reminds me of my Ringo
  4. I would love a better picture, you haven't convinced me yet that he isn't grey maybe a trip to Melbourne would be the best way.
  5. I think that answer deserves another beer reward!
  6. Neat - that's becuase he is a greywing. Goldface have a very strong yellow were as yellowfaces are more of a butter yellow.
  7. 1) Nirvana will never work, you better just give him to me outcome - YF grey opalines (hens) YF grey spangle opalines (hens) yf greys, yf grey spangles, grey spangels, grey opalines (hens) . Keep in mind the offspring of these two as you will have some as DF greys which you can not tell apart from SF greys. the grey gene can take over your flock if not watched. also the hen looks cinnamon so the males will be split. 2) YF blue opalines, YF blue spangle opalines , yf blue, yf blue spangles, blue spangles, blue opalines. she looks cinnamon as well is this right? 3) Buddy looks just like my Tootie. YF TBC, YF TBC dom pied, TBC normals, TBC dom pied. Hens will be opalines.
  8. we sure with the HE? I can just see the white rings in that picture. anywhere from 3 months to 6 months is normal for them to start losing the bars, and as stated inside/alone birds seem to stay babies that little be longer than ones in the flock.
  9. 24 hours is normal for the first few as the hen would have started brooding correctly around the egg 3. Congrautations!
  10. neat that would normally help - but his an opaline meaning his wings are the same as the body. his colour is what is called Seafoam by some.
  11. sky blue spangle opaline hen cobalt dom. pied opaline male that is their full types. they are common and popular to most people beucase they look so interesting. I say if you are starting gather the types and looks of budgies that you like, if you get green becuase 'breeders' like them but you like blues they you are not going to continue. *gives Neat a Beer*
  12. *Nerwen* replied to Zebra's topic in Pest Control
sometimes the simple things work the best
  13. No worries and Neat is right the chicks will be opalines. a mix of sky blues and cobalts ( as in that second picture your male looks cobalt to me) and a mix of spangles, pieds and spangle pieds.
  14. i thought that too Kaz, and now with the back shots of the birds I agree with that. Bullett I combined your topics for you so people didn't get confused.
  15. he is looking alright, have you felt the keel bone?
  16. why was there question about his gender? from that picture male for sure
  17. green spangles green normals if he is pied: green pieds green pied spangles if she is split blue green spangles green normals yf blue spangles yf blue normals blue spangles blue normals again if he is pied - pieds in those colours as well all males will be split for lacewing gene
  18. You have cobalt to a cobalt with the violet adding factor. you can get cobalts, mauves, visual violets and mauve violets.
  19. Normal Blue 2 weeks What he became Opaline 10 days Opaline growing up grown
  20. MB- if both are spangle there is a chance that is is a DF spangle. as daz has stated sometimes they can have a plum looking eye. best to wait until the pin feathers start to open before getting too attached
  21. *steals* he is Gorgeous! very nice bird.
  22. sky cinnamon HEN and sky violet spangle COCK sky normals sky violet normals sky spanlges sky violet spangle all males will carry the cinnmon gene
  23. yellowface is dominant over the normal blue gene. it will not be 100% only 50% you could also get some YF greys as well from those parents. no they just like us to keep guessing until the very last moment.
  24. use Finch or canary seed to feed him as that doesn't have the fatterning seeds mixed in with it. I'm not talking about supermarket ones as they have the same mix of seed but a different package. and fresh food too. excerise is always the best but don't rush him into it. if he can't fly that well look into him climbing more first even if that is just to get to food dishes up higher in the cage.
