Aww gald to hear that I can't wait to hear more about the lads and lasses.
  3. Yeah I know, just odd looking to me, that's one of the reasons I know I will never become a show breeder I really hope I get to see one of these frosted pieds at the Royal Brisbane Show (ekka) this year. Is one of the biggest show for budgies and chooks and heaps of farm animals. I'll take a camare along and if there is one take a few pics. (with permission of cuase)
  4. WOW that is a stunning looking bird. It kinda looks like someone as been washing the colour off him what is with the very big black dots on the others, very odd looking not what I think a budgie is at all
  5. Never seen one or heard of one, any chance of a picture? I know it might be copyrighted tho. Do they have a web site?

Errr :dbb1: I think may have come out differently to what you were thinking. As to a spangled pied well if you think of spangles as a type of pied gene then you couldn't have one, like you couldn't have an dominant recessive pied.
  7. *Nerwen* replied to Lady's topic in Breeders Discussion
he could eb slpit for pied but I think the spangle is dominant over the pied genes. I may be wrong though I'm still learning myself in Lots of areas.
  8. *Nerwen* replied to Daz's topic in Breeders Discussion
Very cool Daz, now I don't want you getting your hopes up but you might be lucky and have a yellow face there with the spangle. I only say that becuase she looks SO much like Freckle did when she was younger with that dark forest like green. :dbb1: does anyone else thing it is funny that the only typo i made was BEFORE crossing fingers :(Laughing out loud):
  9. Clearflight simply mean the flight feathers on the wing have no markings. I lot of dominant pieds are like that.
  10. *Nerwen* replied to Lady's topic in Breeders Discussion
That boy is a spangle Most spangles have a spot on the back of the head too, that is how freckle got her hame. Still not sure how you got him becuase spangle is a dominant gene.

Well if you put a box in with them or moved them to a cage with one how ever you would do it and put the egg in side the box you may be lucky. Then it will be up to the hen to sit on it or kick it away.

I'm a bit lost with the yellow light green O_o but still sounds very interesting. Do you know of any of the splits in the bird or is going to be pot-luck sort of thing?
  13. *Nerwen* replied to Daz's topic in Breeders Discussion
*Please ignore typosonce fingers have been crossed* Is the spangle a blue too? *crossing Fingers........now*

  15. *Nerwen* replied to a post in a topic in Breeders Discussion
Plus your minds like to play tricks then the oldest was at that age there was nothing to compare it to, now the youngest is been mesured by your mind to the oldest.
  16. Ahh now here comes the tricky part is the fault that the author or the picture? either from the scan or the printing?? I swear you posted once telling someone their bird was a yellowgreen maybe i was mistaken with that. edit- wow what luck I found it in my first hit I was wrong you said a grey-yellow Here I was thinking I would be goin gmad tring to find this one post.

Well seid there Chicky Great to hear the wrok you have put into gaining all you can in the last little while. How are you birdies doing? Any more sign of eggs? I know I panicked over small things too when I breed my darlings. I hope we hear lots more of your growing family soon. oh and world wars happen here sometimes don't take it heart. 19. 14 weeks ir right for them to start the big first moult. And the cere changes happens around the same time. How offen they moult come does to the enivroment they are in. If it is alway perfect spring time weather they can moult ever two weeks or o until it seems like they moult all the times, others only moult twice a year.

  21. yes your right Rainbow I should have stated he 'could' be split for blue too
  22. Well there is no blue marks like that one Freckle or Marine. But they both have better/differant colouring under the wings. Freckle has some grey feathers and Marine a bright blue.
  23. *Nerwen* replied to a post in a topic in Breeders Discussion
Err Yes in fact a lot of folks do. Have a look at a paper at the pet section and see all the dogs and cat mixes and I can bet you that over a third of them were not planned in the lest.
  24. Teehee I think I would had laughed if I saw the vet type that in :glare: And yeah it may sit funny but it will grow out like any other feather :fear
