What Are These Colors Called?
Daz- my thoughts: 1. Looks like a normal green to me (could be a greywing like dad) 2. Green Opaline 3. Normal Blue 4. Pied Cobalt (looks dominate but a picture of the front would be better to work that out) 5. Green Opaline 6. Looks like a Clearflight Pied Mauve. The last is my fave, so differant looking.

that's a bit for for me to travel I'm not that happy with Aussie petstore, they are getting dogs in (not a very good set up either, at lest at the one near me) and their birds seems to be in smaller space with more and dirtier Plus saying they are pied birds when there are heaps of others in the same cage.

Help! I Think Hen Has Stopped Feeding Chicks
Azure I'm sorry to hear that, but I think you need to look for another vet. Was this one an avian one or not? He didn't seem to help ease your worries at all, or seem to care that much about the birds. Are your two new ones hand tamed? If not the breathing may have been from panic (unless it didn't ease down after a few minutes of you leaving them be) Did the vet do any swaps of the feces to look under a mircoscope? or just look at them and give you all those vague answers? Good for you for at least caring enough and listening to yourself that something seems wrong and taking them to a vet straight away. Pity the vet didn't help much at all. My fingers are crossed that all is well for you.

I need help
Good luck You sound like your doing the right stuff (reading up on it and checking the health of your birds first) As Nasal tufts said remove the tissue and add the shaving, this make it more nature to the bird and give something for the hen to kick out and 'fix' her nest if she doesn't want it. Your male sounds fine and the fact that they are bonded so much to the point of the male feeding her thing sound good. It took my hen around 2 weeks to enter the nest. Make sure you give them freah food like carrots or lettuce. Adding some boiled eggs mashed up fine is really heatlhy for them. Also at pet shops you can get condition food which will help keep them in top form. Make sure they have an iodine block (bell) and a cuttle fish (they will chew throught that every quickly when laying ing raising) errm that's all i can think of right now. Keep asking questions.

Help! I Think Hen Has Stopped Feeding Chicks
glad to hear that thing are better than you hoped at 3 and up week they have feather to keep themselves warm now so the mother will spend a bit more time outside. And now that you have the stuff at hand the next time (if there is one) this happens you can start hand feeding as soon as possable. Marine (male) is a yellowface type 2 normal. Chirpy another member on here has a budgie called Teapot.

Help! I Think Hen Has Stopped Feeding Chicks
Did the mom do all the work on her own!! Well done to her. Are you breeding them in an aviary or in a pair? Are they all four weeks or is that only the eldest? How many are there? As to feeding them give them some boiled eggs mashed as small as you can and but in the box so they can see help themselves, you can't leave that for long around 3-4 hours or else it spoils. I think you could add a bit of water to it to make it mushy and if they are not eating it themselves use a spoon to tip it into their beaks slowly.

looking for a partner?
Iris rings come in much earilier than that, and it's a way to judge the age of a bird as ready to breed. All of mine got their rings by the time their first molt was over.

hi, i really need help with my question
that's good news, also if you think it's the bath can you remove that from the cage? have you got a spare one. Is it left in the cage all the time, if so is it empty when you are not around to watch them?
