Someone Talk Me Out Of It Please!
I have no doubt I can handle more kids as we have done foster care and have not only had our own child in the house but also had difficult teenagers staying with us, one stayed with us for nearly a year! It 's really the pregnancy that I'm dreading, but I may prove myself wrong and have no problems I think I am in slightly better health now than when I was pregnant with my second so that is a start. I have been pon a strict regime of supplements to fix some long term deficiencies and I am a bit fitter now too so fingers crossed that the hard work pays off.

Someone Talk Me Out Of It Please!
As long as your birds are healthy Missylu I don't think you have anything to worry about I copped a problem with the ligaments that hold my pelvis together last time (can't remember what it's called) and I was so bad I could barely walk. I was still at uni too so I ended up on a temporary disabled pass so I could park my car close to the buildings. There is a good chance I would get it again which is what makes me so apprehensive

Anyone Had A Ceasarian?
She'll be in the hospital for atleast another four days so I'm going to take some of the (nice) off the shelf ready meals for her that she can just stick in the microwave at the hospital if she gets sick of hospital food Going to go and get a heap of containers tomorrow and fill their freezer for them Wow AV, have we got some sort of psychic link going on? I had literally just decided to get her cocoa butter and leave in hair conditioner

If you decide to wash them, pop them in a low oven for a little while to make sure they are dry so they don't go mouldy

Anyone Had A Ceasarian?
I'm going to have a chat to her today and see what I can do for her. I'm not much help with the hanging around and cleaning stuff because my kids would have to come and they'd cause more hassles than anything else. I'll see if she would like a bunch of meals dropped off

No worries well it's in then

Anyone Had A Ceasarian?
She told me she wanted a sling, but I just wasn't sure whether the ceasar would change that. I have one of those feeding pillows that I used so I might take it along incase it is of use and if she likes it I'll get her a nice new one

Anyone Had A Ceasarian?
She's tough like that, she's not very 'girly' either. I wasn't so much thinking along the lines of something girly but more something soothing to help make her more comfortable, having not ever been through a ceasar I really don't know what she's in for in the next few weeks with her scar though. She lives quite a long way from me so a trip to just drop off dinner isn't really an option unfortunately I like the colouring book Kaz, she has a childish streak that would LOVE that Hey Elly, can you tell me if you used a 'ring sling' with your post ceasar baby and whether it worked for you? I just remembered I got her one but I don't know how she'll go with it. So the hamper now has: A sling carrier for once she is up to carting him around a bit A pair of baby socks with little rattly crocodiles on them A little wooden plane and car A pack of lolly bananas A block of white choccy Some pink lady choc frogs I wan't to add in a bottle of something for her lotion wise but I might chat to the pharmacist and see if they can suggest something

Anyone Had A Ceasarian?
Yeah I figured that, thankfully her other half has organised time off work to help her as well and her mum has come up from the country so at this stage it might be too many people if I hang around and help I think (especially as her mum is rather overbearing). Plus I have my own kids to deal with and the last thing she needs is them carrying on in her house Mainly I was tring to think of some things to put in a little hamper for her. So far I've put in a few of her favorite lollies (for energy ) but I was thinking along the lines of lotions and potions, I assume she probably can't have a proper relaxing bath for a little while. As someone that can't deal with anything with fragrance I don't even look in that part of the pharmacy so I've got no idea

Anyone Had A Ceasarian?
I am going to see my best friend tomorrow in hospital, I just found out she had an emergency ceasarian today. Thankfully she is doing well and has had a healthy baby boy, not yet named. I think it is all feeling very surreal for her at the moment as she hasn't even seen the little guy yet. She called me ten minutes ago and she was still slurring her words, she had just got out of theatre and the first person she called was me I'm going to see her tomorrow and I want to take her something to help her feel better, any suggestions? She already has heaps of baby stuff so I want to get something for her

Bad News Av
Another hen laid an egg today so the next egg can be fostered to her if I get it in time to increase the chances of getting atleast one or two fro him
-
George And Lumina
We all misunderstood what you were saying Jodie. You meant that you have a hen in another cage witha nest box that is going into her own box not that she was going into Lumina's box, is that right?
-
Bad News Av
Yeah, I caught the little monkey in the act too so I know it was him. I'm thinking about taking him out when she is about to lay her next egg and then fostering the egg and putting him back after I have taken the egg out. He was really quick as I had only checked the box a couple of hours beforehand

Elly is Turning into an AUSSIE
Bumnuts are something very dear to all our hearts...Eggs! My grandfather used to ask for "A bit of pig and some bumnuts on toast" for breaky - Bacon and eggs on toast Neat Dead horse is rhyming slang for sauce but it is used in other ways too
-
George And Lumina
Agree with all Sunnie has said, personally I would remove the other hen as she may start causing problems.

Bad News Av
Ozzie smashed the first egg his hen laid today I'm gonna get some fakeys incase he does it again but otherwise...

It is because their muscles are still developing so they are much more prone to them than adults

Yawning/gasping?
Bribes!!!!! Only offer him his favorite things when he is on your hand or shoulder. My tame budgie is a sucker for carrot so that's what he gets when he goes whereI want him to. If yours loves millet then don't put it in the cage only offer it when he is with you.

Had To Euthenase A Chick Today
It would never have been a happy life for this little one, there are some that you can see will be able to cope but it's unlikely this would ever have been one of those. You've done the right thing for this little angel

Head Case Will Not Stay In Nest
If the father is feeding him in the bottom then maybe leave the nestbox where it is and just give him a little icecream container in the bottom of the cage to sit in.
