  1. I thinkn maybe you mean show types?
  2. You need to give more info about what you are feeding, what they look like when they die, whether there are any symptoms beforehand(looking pale, etc)
  3. Here 'tis
  4. Hi Elise, it is nice to see a young person on here that recognises the value of learning about breeding before doing it. It shows how much you care about the welfare of your bird. Why don't you try and find a breeder in your area that might show you how their breeding cages are set up so you can get an idea of how a proper breeder does it. Of course you won't be breeding on the same scale but it is sometimes handy to see how it all works and it's good to have someone nearby that you can call if there is a problem and you need the sort of help that can't be provided 'online'.
  5. Figured they were around that. Given I will be a poor non-working person in two weeks I think my DH would kill me Good luck finding him a perfect home though
  6. More the $$ that might be the issue I think Jenene, other wise I'd have him in a snap. How much does a major go for these days?
  7. DO you flat pack? :hap: Might be time for a trip up north
  8. The other aviary is a standard box type aviary, I have a picture will post it a little later for you :hap:
  9. I'll be heading out earlyish in the morning AV at around 10:30 and we'll be out all day until late in the evening or maybe even stay until Sunday morning so best to make a decision first thing in the morning if you have another newbie by then or otherwise I will be around on Sunday, might be out for a while if I go to the show though :laughter:
  10. Very lucky you didn't lose any Jenene, my door sprang open a few weeks ago, incredibly I didn't loose a single budgie either but I haven't seen my pair of king quails ever since :laughter:
  11. It's risky to move them so close to hatching, I would wait until they hatch and then make a decision. Can you put a block of wood near the entrance to the box to stop the older chick pushing them under the feet of incoming parents? Also how far off hatching are lemons? If they are due to hatch any day now then she would probably feed one
  12. I would make it very clear Deb that X amount of fundinghas been provided to the school to ensure that Jadon gets an integration aide, etc and that if it is not provided to the prescribed level you will be taking it to today tonight
  13. That's **** Deb, is there another school locally that you could try?
  14. With you there Neat Two feral small boys over here When my kids are tiny I have found a great form of exercise is using them as weights. Lying on your back and doing bench presses with them and things like that, they think it's hysterical and it's great for toning up the muscles
  15. Hey Carolyn I'd like to come and have a look, what time and where is the show being run?
  16. Actually I think if you kept him at home for a year you could possibly still enrol himin prep, after all they keep kids back for a secind year of prep (or atleast they did back in the days where everyone didn't have to be perfect :budgiedance: ) no different really.
  17. Maybe this is an option for you then Deb? We are embarking on our homeschooling journey in about two weeks after making the decision not to send our oldest to chool next year. The thing you have to remember is that in a one on one situation an entire days learning can be accomplished in less than an hour because it is much more focused than in a room with 25ish other kids.
  18. Deb speak to the home schooling association. Atleast in Vic as long as the child is being educated that is all the education department wants to know. Here you are completely within your rights to tell the education department that you are educating your own child and then a year later just happen to change your mind and enrol them in school :hap:
  19. I'm very jealous that you have some birds to show this time around! I have two chicks and three eggs in the nest to a pair that I hope will produce my first decent show birds but they are still pink and feather less, don't know what they'll think of those :hap:
  20. I walk too, kids in the double pram, two dogs on leads and let the chaos begin!!! In three weeks my kids start swimming lessons so we will add that in too as I still have to go in with my youngest When I get a chance to escape my children I grab the kelpie and take her for a jog, the bassett's legs are too short so she gets left behind :hap:
  21. Oh my gosh, one of my dream birds, along with a gang gang and an african grey. I hope there will be LOTS of photos :hap:
  22. Has she been wormed?
  23. Is she kicking it to the bottom of the cage or is she actually eating it? She should always have food
  24. Any vet can make a slide and look at it under a microscope. If he doesn't know what he's looking for tell him if there are little round swimming type things then it's canker if they are long and thin like the photo above it's mega. At least that way you will know what treatment to give.
