Addicted To Budgies?
Yes, it did seem to be as a result of lots of louding chatter from the aviary so I think they were just talking back

Murdered By My Dog
No, no, it wasn't my dog JB. The little guy went to live with Snowy about three weeks ago, it was her dog.

Do Budgies Ever Drink?
In the wild birds are very vulnerable while drinking, they can't see predators, etc so they are very wary about doing it when they are being watched, some will once they become used to you but even the friendliest ones may not drink in front of you. Rest assured he will be drinking, he's just making sure no one's going to eat him while he does

Worked My Butt Off Today
They aren't cheap but I was lucky enough to spot them as part of an ebay bulk lot including a bunch of large cages which I managed to get for $20, they are normally about $40 each so three feeders plus three cages and one of those green and white plastic poultry waterers for 20 bucks was a great buy

Pet Cemetery In/around Sydney
In Melbourne they are in the phone book, we had our very elderly cat cremated last year so I would imagine they are up there too. They will charge a fee for the service though. When our other cat died a few years ago we went up the bush and found a nice quiet spot and dug a deep hole and buried him there, you probably aren't supposed to but we were renting at the time and didn't want to bury him at the house. If it is something small like a budgie you could bury him in a large pot with a nice rose on top and that way he can go with you when you move if you are renting.

Worked My Butt Off Today
My hubby arrives tonight and he is going to help me install a divider which will sit at about where that first frame is 1/3 of the way from the door. The breeding cages will go in the first section and it will also serve the double purpose of acting as a safety door

Worked My Butt Off Today
Well as some of you may be aware I have had a few mouse problems lately, as well as that I have had a lot of seed spilling onto the floor of the room outside the flight. In an effort to curb both those problems I used melamine sheeting along the bottom edges of the aviary and also sealed along the base with a gap filler (don't worry no fumes ) So here it is after some work. I've changed from having the seed on a table to having the hanging feeders on the walls and I'm hoping this will help confine the seed to one corner a little more.

What On Earth?
I wish a vet type would get on now so they can explain this but s it possible she has been overdosed on calcium??? Also does the brand of calcium you use have Vitamin D in it too, it's no use if it doesn't...

A Chick Has Me Confused
I'm going to say she must be split blue... You can have many clutches before that elusive blue one appears, it's just luck of the draw. Shes a clearflight pied, a variation of dom pied just missing the banding I would say. The normal isn't that surprising as the dom pied parents must ba a single factor dom pied and on this occasion have passed on the normal gene from both of them rather than the dom pied gene from atleast one parent.

What On Earth?
Looks like a malformed soft egg to me, what is she getting in the way of supplements, particularly calcium?

My Lot
Sounds like it has now been reclassified as a sub species of the Crimson Rosella http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Rosella Ha Ha, SNAP! I did say it was a bit of a contentious issue Every time I look it up it has changed again
-
My Lot
What is a Stanley Rosella? It seems you have a few of the same species as us but you call them by different names... He is a Yellow Rosella which is a closely allied species to the Adelaide Rosella (considered by some to be a sub species of the Adelaide -a bit of contention here )

mark your eggs
A soft pencil like a 6B is the best bet if you choose to mark them

Removing A Hen Or Add Another Box?
That is what I would do Chrissy

Removing A Hen Or Add Another Box?
It depends how warm your house is, if they aren't going to get cold then they can be in an open box at any age they just have to be kept warm enough

mark your eggs
Hey chrissy I don't know if you have a mobile phonewith a light on it but that's what I use. I pop the phone in the nest box and then just gently hold each egg over the light, I onlyhave to lift them less than 1cm to do them and it works really well. Any small cheap LED torch will work too, one of the mini mag-lights would probably work well too. Oh and for crop feeding I use rubber valve tubing available from any bicycle shop, costs about 30 cents a metre here, I cut it to lenth and put it onto a standard plastic syringe that any pharmacy will stock.

Removing A Hen Or Add Another Box?
Did you see my suggestion above?
-
Removing A Hen Or Add Another Box?
If you divided it across the middle and put the pair with the older chicks in the bottom half with the chicks in an open box on the floor so they can be seen then that might work alright
