  1. We will be home on the Monday 25th, heading off Tuesday morning and back late on Sunday
  2. 24th of August, not sure what I am doing yet about the birds. The big ones don't go through their seed all that quickly so even if they were done every couple of days it would be okay, I'll let you know
  3. Shhhhhhh, I'm gonna take a front on piccy of blondieand stick it up the cage so fatso doesn't get self conscious
  4. Before magical slimming potion After magical slimming potion:
  5. Well when he does loose his weight he won't be fat any more so he does need a real name. I've never heard of this cartoon, pictures needed please
  6. I am living on borrowed sleep time and during my work lunch hour at the moment, I'm looking forward to the wedding being over so I can get a little relax time again
  7. Do you reckon Fatso will be able to 'do the deed' in his current condition Norm?
  8. Is your violet a true violet? True visual violet occurs on a cobalt base so if your bird is a violet then you do have a cobalt
  9. A sky blue to a visual violet (which is on a cobalt base) could give you cobalt chicks. I have a skyblue cock and violet(cobalt) hen together at the moment, last clutch they had a violet baby and a skyblue baby
  10. Another thing pretty much done. I made the flowers for the wedding stand last night. I need to make some organze 'bunches' to put in the middle of the stand to hide the stand and the wires but you get the idea
  11. He's such a funny little guy, but you can actually feel the fat on him which is very sad He' so fat he's broken all his tail feathers hitting the deck trying to fly. They are definately there, I checked before I agreed to take him but they are all broken off near the base. I'm wondering whether I should pull the stumps out so that he grows new ones quicker but being primary feathers I imagine it would hurt him so I'm a Little iffy about doing it.
  12. These are the four new birds: Hugo and Hilda: They paired up when I put them in the quarantine cage so I decided to take a punt and give them a box. Fatso and Cinderella: They will get a nest box once fatso has lost enough weight
  13. These are the photos of the new pair. They are in great condition (and from the same breeder) and they have gone straight into a cage with a nest box. I took the advice of everyone and I have picked a green normal hen for him and a nice big girl too. Did I do good?
  14. Here's fat boy For those wodering he doesn't have discolouration above his cere, I put him in the quarantine cage and one of the hens immediately took a chunk of feathers off the front of his head
  15. It is applied to the back of the neck much like those spot on flea treatments for dogs. It is a specific suitable strength for birds and I get it in a little bottle from the bird sales when they are on for $3. Let me know if you have trouble finding it
  16. I'm not using that hen anymore, I have found a nice green normal for him. I will be putting that girl with a big syblue yellowface normal.
  17. Looks like a large finch nest to me
  18. Sometimes when they are masking something it can show through, especially a 'strong' gene like dom pied
  19. You could always try the calcium first and then see how she goes, it's not going to hurt her.
  20. I have both and I would never put them together, the ringnecks would most likely kill the budgies
  21. Maybe they were dark cinnamons or something and that was diluting the body colour  I'll see what I can find out
  22. Well if any of them have their violet birds there on Thursday night I'll ask about them and I'll also take a photo
  23. I new it was a mistake posting that photo, the question is not about her colour as I get that she is washed out. There were normals and opalines at the club with the same washed out violet colouring, that is what I am asking about.
  24. The ones at the club I wouldn't have even said were a sky visual, they wre the same colour as scruff, like there was no blue behind it at all
