  1. 26 would almost be true for me except that I still eat breakfast cereal at any time of the day
  2. Personally I will only ever keep one male per aviary although in your huge aviary you could maybe stretch to two. If they get into breeding mode you will start finding dead quails. You would be best to see if you can find someone who needs a few males and will swap for hens. Also you are best to have atleast two hens per male so the hens don't get harrassed.
  3. If worst comes to worst Carolyn send me a message, it's a risk I'll take if you need me to
  4. We all know those cute little computer symbols called 'emoticons,' where: means a smile and is a frown. Sometimes these are represented by :-) :-( Well, how about some 'AR$E-ICONS?' Here goes: (_!_) a regular **** (__!__) a fat **** (!) a tight **** (_*_) a sore **** {_!_} a swishy **** (_x_) kiss my **** (_X_) leave my **** alone (_zzz_) a tired **** (_E=mc2_) a smart **** (_$_) Money coming out of his **** (_?_) Dumb ****
  5. It's okay, we'll just eat off the table until Friday
  6. I actually think that grey boy would go nicely with the green opaline hen
  7. Stage two of whitegood rescue. We got a fridge on ebay today Now my OH just has to fix our dishwasher on Friday and it'll be all OOOOOO KKKKKKKK.
  8. Also the violet male looks opaline to me? Hard to tell though without a wing shot
  9. I love that DF spangle hen, I'd put her to the spangle male personally but I have no real reason for that than that I love normal and DF spangles
  10. I'll have a look, I think I have a nice big yellow face hen that might be perfect. They are in bed now though
  11. Wow AV, they are great, personally I would put that gorgeous albino cock with a yellow face hen. Can you say Cremino hen babies But we all know I'm desperate for a cremino My ino cocks are still too young to breed yet :grrrr:
  12. Well the good news is that today he is sitting up in the nest box qute well, still a little unsteady on one side but he is able to get back on his feet if he does fall over. He still holds his head to the side though. Given all his symptoms only affecting one side of his body and the way he has now gradually recovered it does seem like a stroke still which is rather odd
  13. It's interesting that most people consider rabbits to be kids pets although if you talk to the serious rabbit people (breeders and such) most will tell you that they are better adults pets, as rabbits don't actually like to be picked up and cuddled. We have a smoochy pet rabbit called Frank and he will come and get a pat and a scratch on his own terms but he would not be happy at all if a kid tried to pick him up.
  14. Personally I would recommend a rat for a small kids pet. Very gentle, very clean and unlike rabbits or guinea pigs rats will WANT to play wih their little owner. Males are a better choice (and unlike male mice they don't smell). I used to breed so you can check out my old rat site if you like: Rat site
  15. This little one always seems well fed and I have never seen the parents fight(this is their second clutch this year and they are fantastic devoted parents). This one was going to be staying with me forever no matter what so we'll see how he goes :sigh:
  16. I had thought about making the sawdust quite deep in the nest box. He can sit up okay if I help him up so I'm hoping that if I can keep working with him for a couple of weeks until he starts to want to perch we might be able to work past the issues.
  17. That's what we are doing, but it was supposed to be going towards new lounge suite
  18. That's what we are hoping AV. I described the 'symptoms' t my other half and he reckons it sounds like water in the motor so we are hoping that if we let it dry it mght miraculously work again It's only a couple of years old(but out of warranty) so it hasn't really reached the stage yet where you would expect it to die.
  19. Simple, get rid of the newspaper Put something completely different on the floor of the cage, I use sawdust sometimes if newspaper is a problem or I don't have enough.
  20. If you can't think of anything you really want to spend it on now why not put it away for that day when you go "ooohhhh I like that, wish I had the money to buy it" Better to save it and spend it on something you really want than just spending it for the sake of it
  21. First piece of good news is that I have a washing machine arriving on Thursday night
  22. Sounds like everyone else is pretty much as stumped as me. At this stage I think I'll just keep doing the mini physio sessions and see how he goes and just reassess if any other symptoms appear.
  23. I am hoping that the OH might be able to do something to make the dishwasher work when he comes down next weekend. I only have to survive one week, just one, only one , ngggnnnarrgggg
  24. Doubtful. He was good as gold until a couple of days ago. Now it seems as though he just doesn't have much strength in that side of his body. Unlikely in a baby budgie but my first thought was that he looked like he'd had a stroke.
  25. Washing machine - DEAD Fridge - VERY SAD and now.... Dishwasher - DEAD I can't take anymore right now, I can't handle washing the piles of clothes and now dishes generated by my two small boys by hand while working and getting ready for the wedding with no help from my other half. Soommmmeeeeonneee HEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP MMEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
