Go for it LIV ... inside BOID ! He already loves ya ... I can tell. It's all in the way he looks at you. You will have a great relationship with him. By the WAY KAZ ... those pics you showed with the Golden Face & the colbalt blue. That's Scooter for sure. Almost duplicates of him. Scooter has some really nice colors in his feathers up front. Especially on the neck & throat area.

Merlins havin a good time with MIL & FIL ... they sit around late at night playing cards & swilling some fine old scotch & laughing about Cabela the dog that has to wear a dress at Elly's house. Good times !

Good for you Pattyann ... always good if a reputable pet shop owner can do this for you. You were lucky that your pet shop was good enough to do it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kathym ... it's important to have someone who knows what they are doing to clip the birds wings for you. Especially if this is your birds first time to be clipped also. Stand there with the professional person doing the job & watch them. Ask questions & instructions. Learn how they are holding the bird & how & if they use a light towel or a tube to place the birds face into to prevent biting. Just how many feathers should be trimmed ? How far do they trim the feathers back ? Ask about the scissors & medications needed to stop bleeding should the trim be too close to a blood feather. Ask how to stop the bleeding & tend to the wound if it happens. Learn as you go. Might as well ask the professional to check the budgies nails at the same time. Long nails on birds are a problem too & not so easy to trim either ! LEARN EACH STEP CAREFULLY ! If you are not confident in handling your bird or birds & you try to do this & your bird struggles while you are trying to clip & something slips & goes wrong ... you & your bird can get hurt. And ... your bird will panic & lose trust in you . Besides the fact that they will bite the DICKENS outta yer hands or what ever is closest to it. NOT NICE FOR YOU OR THE BIRD ! It's good you asked us. But I think the majority of us all figure. This is a serious job that can be complicated & it's hard to just tell someone how to do it. I mean ... We can all tell you its easy & simple & yadda yadda yadda. But we really don't know you & your birds & the relationship you have with your birds & how comfortable you are with them & them with you. So how can we really advise you safely ? So .... LET A PROFESSIONAL SHOW YOU. You can see with your own eyes & then judge your ability with your relatioinship to your birds if you can be capable to handle this job in the future. I'm sure you will be able to master this in the future. But pay someone else to get bitten before you try it. Save your bandages & fingers !

Wow Elly ... Merlin is playing FIL against MIL ... I love that. He is playing sides against each other. Strategy ... planning a take over. Of what ... I don't know. But Merlin has a plan. Well ... you better be holding some Millet spray between them pretty white teeth of yours if that's what you want. I am not swayed by just another pretty face. Actually ... I am. Did I tell you how cool this new place is ? Did I tell you its lovely & clean in here & I like the new foot rest for my wonky toes ? And my heavy bottom ? Did I tell you I think your a cool lady & even when you make them sucky puckery noises with your mouth & you ain't got no millet in yer mouth. I am tempted to come over & say hi right back. But ... I am playing a little hard to get. You know what ? YOU & I are gonna be like ROMEO & JULIETTE ! Did you know Juliette wore millet in her hair & around her neck & as earrings ? OH LADY .... we are gonna get along just great !

BIRDLUV ! I GOT IT ! But you need a few more budgies for this to work. Train yer budgies ... get them trained on the millet & then get them to fly as a flock & get you a donut from the Maplegrove KK shop. Just 1 or 2 donuts will do. Just make sure your birds are strong cause someone told me today these donuts are HEAVY ... like a rock. But good as heck ! Since millet is so much cheaper then gas in Canada right now. It's the only way I can think it will work.

Good that she went back to the cage ... millet is a great treat & most budgies will bend over backwards for it. You'll prolly be able to tame her quite well with it if she enjoys it that much !

It was not a sweatshirt ... twas a frilly dress ! I will make Cabela manly like a beefed up Marine Soldier Dog ... Able to take on the toughest dogs on the block. Hopefully all them toughest dogs are really old & little Chihuahuas with walking canes, arthritis, glaucoma & kinda deaf. Don't want Cabela's head to swell with all his Macho-ness !

Even from the few pics you show Liv ... he is really colorful. I like him ! I am so happy you got him & I look forward to hearing how his treatment & prognosis comes along. I'm sure you will do wonders with him. Make sure you show us lotsa pictures of him as things change for the better. And I'm sure they will. You are very dedicated to him already. Good ... I'll fatten her up ... but don't expect me to dress your dog up in a dress. I refuse to do that. He & I will be out & about at the BARS being MANLY ! Eating pickled eggs & donuts & leaving a tantalizing array of fumes in our wake ! (ps ... I did not know about By The Way by the way ... I didn't know there was a shortcut rule page. I must look ! )

I like to leave a radio on in the house when we go out. I was told that in the wild, when danger is happening, any & all animals become quiet & listen & wait for the danger to happen or pass. So quiet can be frightening to your bird. Quiet means danger & they should be aware. When I got my first bird I didn't play any music or the tv & made the house really quiet for him to adjust. POOR Bird was in fear for over 2 weeks ! He never said ONE LITTLE CHIRP ! As soon as I took him into the den with me where the computer & stereo were on he was in his glory & partied up. He started singing & coming out of his cage & flying around & really adjusted to us. But again .. I noticed when we went out & turned everything off. He ran to his cage & hid in fear. So we just played the stereo lightly for him for company. The fear behavior stopped. I say its a good thing to leave the radio on for your bird.

Welcome Jaffy. You have a lovely little hen. I like her name too. She didn't look too freaked out about the camera. I think her millet is bigger then she is ! She must be in millet heaven. If you hope to train her. You have a good advantage at this age with her. I would take the millet away & give it to her in small clumps as a treat between your fingers to get her to come to your hand. There is lots of millet in most budgie seed anyway. So don't think she will starve ! She's old enough to eat regular budgie seeds. She is just getting use to things. Good luck ... keep us posted. You will learn so many great things from this forum & its many members.

JIMMYB ... YOU ARE EVIL ... beating up an ole lady for her KK's. SAD SAD. Birdluv ... whatsup ? No KK's in your neck of the woods ? I feel for you ... I do. I feel worse for me. Cause I haven't had one either ... But I feel more for the poor elderly lady JimmyBanks has beaten with her own cane to steal her box of kk donuts. It's a sad day when donuts breed violence. Sad ....

Composting doesn't kill the seeds germinating. I have a pet pigeon & my budgies mess too ... so I dumped it all in the composter & used the soil in potted plants & the flower beds last season. I ended up with a nice crop of millet, corn on the cob & sunflowers. It made the raccoons & the wild birds awfully happy. I just left it all for them to scavenge on their own.

I'll come take care of your cats & dogs. & Merlin too. FREE OF CHARGE ... well almost Free of Charge. You'll just have to have a delivery truck bring me donuts as long as I stay. And have an Ambulance parked in the driveway 24-7 in case I go into cardiac arrest from the donuts. (By The Way - changed to By The Way) ... if I pet sit yer cats & dogs .. expect them to go on diets when you come back too. Did you know cats LOVE DONUTS ?
