Are you sure bluey is a cock ? I know hens make that sort of repeated chirp over & over again. Maybe bluey is a Bluebelle ? Where is his cage ? Is he close to where the family action is most of the time ? He's not away from everyone is he ? They are a social bird. They like being where all the action is & the people are. Until its bedtime that is.

Hey Lovemybirds ... how is she handling the surroundings ? Is she eating well ? Chirping ? Hopping around her cage & being investigative ? Or is she just sitting quiet & being laid back ? What's her behaviour like ? Does she hear your other birds ? Does that interest her at all ?

Excellent pics Missy ... the gang look like they have a great time. As for the rope perch there are usually instructions on them when you buy them that say if you see the rope begin to fray ... replace it with a new one ASAP. Yes ... you can trim the threads down if you think the birds are chewing it. I've used them for a long time & luckily have had no problems. Funny ... I see my birds on the rope perches more ... it must feel nice on their feet ! The difference of bark on branches & wood perches we make & buy. Is a nice change for them.

That's what I meant when I said my bird was bathing with the basil ... he would place the leaves under his other feathers mostly on is underside & back & tuck them in. He was molting at this time also. So maybe it was cool & refreshing to him where he had fresh skin & pimply new feathers coming in. Some birds really hate molting. One of my birds refused to come out of the cage & be social for over 2 months, he said NOT ONE PEEP ! It drove me nuts. I thought he was sick & gonna die ... but. Just molting. Birds all do strange things ... I love this ... since yours loves the parsley, let him enjoy it. Be thankful its not something you can't get or grow yourself. We here in Canada don't have natural Peppermint trees & apparently budgies think this is heaven. I might have to sprinkle some fresh peppermint essence on some basil & see if this entices my boids. The one thing that we all have in common with out birds is ... they molt ... they eat ... they poop ! And not all in that order.

Tom's an old guy now ... the only ladies he's attracting to his shows have really BIG BIG KNICKERS now .... when they throw them things at the stage it can knock out the lighting & cover a band player. Totally dangerous. We don't want to scare or cause any car accidents with other motorists with big knickers being waved around on the roads now do we Maesie ?

I lovesssssssssssssssssss barefootieness. I hate to wear shoes ... I always laugh here in Toronto as you go into any Mall or major Grocery store ... PLASTERED on the Doors of the Entry ways says .... " NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO ROLLER BLADES. NO BIKES, THIS MEANS YOU ... NO SERVICE '' ! It's even against the law here to drive your car without wearing SHOES of some kind. Strange eh ? I think its just getting to know you & aclimatizing to it's new enviroment ... it takes time & every budgie is different/ THANK Whomever for that !

I know what you mean Kaz ... I used a large branch with lots of little limbs for climbing & rotated the branch for over an hour to bake & make my tree safe ! (Laughing out loud) I was going to go to my buddies Pizza restaurant & ask to borrow his oven ... but it would have turned my branch into ash in no time !

I had a budgie that did the same with Fresh Basil. So I can't see it being anything wrong. It's a form of bathing. Sounds like he had a great time with it. Cool !

I'd say you got a good response there Missy. Good for you. Now continue to do it. Don't give up. Although I swear you will think your arm is going to fall off while you have it perched in the cage just sitting there while you chit chat with the Sherbet ! You will wanna DIE from the boredom & the pain ! But you are reaching her. Slowly & surely. Keep us posted.

Elly, I know what you mean about the flea's thing. If they only lived in sand like Kaz said, then I wouldn't worry & would let my birds feel green grass between their little toes. Heck I'd get a gaggle of budgies & let them chew the lawn down & be my mower. But here in Canada ... GRASS is the enemy. Fleas LIVE & Love in the grass & weeds here. Cats & dogs all get it from the lawns & parks & just the weeds on the sidewalks here. It's just common in Canada & maybe the States too. Once you have fleas in your home ... it's a nightmare to get rid of them. Expensive & smelly chemicals are used & a this can leave fumes that might harm your birds. Then there is the continuous vacuuming & more spraying & cleaning & doing your laundry over & over & over & over & over & over & over again to try & combat these little bugs. The fleas don't care about living on your pet once in the house ... they like human blood just as much. YOU can treat your cat & dog instantly by placing a single drop on their neck, of a liquid Prescription purchased at any Vets office. But once them little bitting master jumping bugs are in your house ? WHOLE Different story .... And there is no chemical single prescription drop to place on a humans neck to make them fleas go away ! Take my advice. I went thru it 2 years ago & was not a happy camper. Sand fleas would be a breeze compared to the durable Canadian FLEA ! But ... if you feel safe ... take yer babys out & let them check out the lawn. Or Steal some Astroturf of the Football Field ... place it in the bottom of the birds cage & then let them enjoy the grass that way !

Great names ... Could be a Rock Band with a name like that. As for going forth & multilplying ... is there Budgie Viagra ? Keep your dogs & cats away from the male birds !

I'm wondering if I want to know or see what "EGG BUM" looks like. Thinking ... thinking ... thinking ... I haven't made up my mind yet. I will ponder this .... !
