Hey Liv ... did you ride yer bicycle to get the contraband branches ? Actually I have an idea for you ... call up your local tree surgeons/or tree trimmers. They are in the phone books. Tell them what you are looking for & what area you are in & they will be pretty helpful & tell you where to go. I did that when I was looking for a certain type of tree to find some pine cones for a class experiment. I had lotsa people tell me where to go !

I've never seen a budgie with such a deep color blue/green on its cere. Very nice looking bird. Me likey ! I promise to take very very good care of him ... I'll be over to pick him up in a while. Okay ? thanks.

OH, I don't know about that ... If your breeder is sleeping with his head stuck backwards & tucked under his arm pit ... Then I would say YOUR BREEDER IS SICK ! He is either seriously sick or a freaky contortionist. But fear not for yer budgies ... allot of Budgies sleep that way. I sometimes think they do it to block out sound or noise. Or sometimes they like to pretend they ain't payin attention to me & hide their heads like that & pretend they is sleepin .... But I see them sneakin a peek at me with one little black button eye .... They think I don't know what they are doing. But they can't fool me ! I ain't as dumb as a rock.

Good to hear Olive is being .... "OLIVE !" I'm sure she will cause lots of trouble for you with all the other budgies. She will start a REVOLT ! She will be the leader of the pack & soon they will all make demands on you for things you could never ever agree to. CHAOS & ANARCHY WILL HAPPEN ! Prepare for a prison riot. Awww Liv ... so sad to hear about Whitey. You have had extraordinary luck having her as long as you did. She certainly had a great time with her young toy boy ... she was the BELLE of the BALL ! Think happy thoughts of her while you had her snuggled in your top ... especially since she perked up after that. She felt your love & strength that showed her it was time. Maybe it was her way of saying "Thanks MOM ... I just needed your special love before I go. Now it's okay for me to fly ! " Nick

How bout I bring some cake & I will stay & take care of your birds & all them pretty kittys & you can focus all your love & attention on your daughter. Keep your strength up yourself. Stress can affect a person in the same way it can affect our find little feathered friends. It's not noticable until "BOOM" ... you get sucker punched. Stop & smell the Peppermint Branches sometime ... take some deep breaths & try & relax a little. Just for you. It will all work out for you & your daughter. It has to. Both birds are stunning ... I love the bright blue cheek color on Wilde. Is it my imagination or do the larger show type budgies look .... MEAN ? They seem to have this air of " DON'T MESS WITH ME BUDDY " kind of look to them. They all look like they have some BUTT KICKIN ATTITUDE ! I like em !

Time for you to start walking about the neighborhood LIV ... just have some pruning sheers in a bag & whistle away while you steal the tree branches you want. NO ... WAIT ! Don't make your neighbors angry for messing their bushes. Better yet ... drive to some far away neighborhood & then walk around there & steal their tree branches & run back to your car & drive home safely. Problem solved. You are doing great Watda ... I'm impressed you have had them such a short time & already getting them on your hands & flying to you for millet. I agree with Elly, it is harder to tame 2 birds, as they have each other to bond with, so why would they care about you the human. Just be patient. It's good that you have them close to where you are. My birds are beside me the computer, I sit here to work all day. So they come over to annoy me at the keyboard as I leave some millet on a tray near me & some fresh veggies they like. Keep them close to you & chat with them allot ... it helps. That is GREAT Merlin ! She sits on your head & hand & is interacting well with you as well as eating fresh foods. Try everything you eat with her. If she sees you chewing she will want some. Make sure its fresh veggies or fruits though. Check the food nutrition links on here & see what else you can offer her. If she is out & about & flys & has free range of your place she is one LUCKY Girl. You've done a great job with her. Keep it up. You certainly have done well so far ! Congrats !!!!!

Gee's Kaz ... when you said Siamese Brothers in the caption ... I expected 2 cats stuck together in some freaky cajoined way. 6 legs 2 tails 3 eyes one large mouth demanding tuna snacks ! PHEWWWWW ! Glad to see they are NOT joined anywhere. Except by DNA. They are really nice looking Siamese. Seal Point ? Can I have one ? You don't want 2 kitty cats around your birds. It will be twice as hard to keep an eye out for 2 cats. If I had 1 of these beautiful kittys, I could save you some trouble ! I promise I will take very very good care of him. The bamboo I have is alive & growing. ( IT'S ALIVE ! I call it a TRIFFID the man eating plant ) It grows in water. Some of the little plants I have are growing in dirt. So could try this with my boids ?

Good for you Merlin. It sounds like you've done well for your new friend. You've had her/him/it for 6 months now & the bird looks good. Is it chirping up all sorts of songs ? Eating all sorts of fresh fruits & veggies ? Does it let you get close ? Do you have a hands on relationship with it ? I'd love to hear how its going. Please tell !!!

How lucky you are able to treat your birds to what is natural to them. These pictures are so amazing ! We have all sorts of bamboo available here in Canada. They sell it for homes as decorations. Is this the same type of bamboo ? Could I offer it to my birds ? I have vases full of bamboo in the den where they hang out. But they never seem to be interested in it & don't even go near it. It has long leaves growing all over it. The Princess Parrots are awesome. I've never seen them before. Are they a nice bird to make into a pet ? Or strictly an aviary bird ?

And a little yellow budgie snuggling under the cat. I think the cat is foster mama'ing all them babies !

Critters always amaze me !
