They will be FAT Happy Budgies ... in their little motorcycle helmets with face guards. I will have microphones for both of them & me so we can talk back & forth to each other & they can tell me to pull over to the next gas station cause they need to use the fascillities. Wash the dead bugs off our visors ... A clean budgie is a happy budgie. We will camp out at night under the stars ... in a safe MOTEL ... I ain't livin in a tent with bears a comin to chew me or my fat budgies who can't fly or run away. I will need funding for this trip. Who wants to be the first to donate to the NICKNACK BUDGIE DONUT RUN ACROSS THIS LAND ? On Paypal of course.

Okay ... that would make sense. A green & yellow budgie can hide well in trees with folliage. Where a ( WY/spangled pied blue hitchikers chick pea headed warbler budgie ) would stand out & end up being budgie on a stick for some larger prey. Sad. That's prolly why you don't see that breed of budgie I mentioned above anymore. I am just very surprised at this though. I really thought you had all sorts of colored budgies just flying around your houses & making your life so sweet ! Other then the poopins all over everything. Very cool.

Okay Bec ... perhaps I will change to donuts. Oh ya ... Donuts ... just think of all the possibilities .... the flavors, the shapes & sizes the textures, the colors, the decorations ! I could go on the road. I would create a show called ... MY SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT DONUT. Do you think my budgies Weebil & Saucy Face will like going on the open road with me on my motorcycle ? Budgies would like a nibble or 2 of some donut ... dontcha think ? This has me thinkin now ! Wooo Hoooo !

SERIOUSLY ? No other color could survive in the wild ? Why not ? I am trying to read your link you gave while I type this ... I am fascinated by this & yet horrified at the same time. I was told there were wild budgies all over OZ in every color of the rainbow ! Someone lied to me !

Maesie ... you read my mind. Just today the Weebil was sitting on top of the play center while the hen was in the cage chewing. THE HEN IS ALWAYS EATING ! He was staring at me & I started talking to him ... soft voiced ... asking whats up ? hows he doing ? whats new ? You know ... just budgie chit chat. He started voicing back. Ever so softly & lightly little chatting back to me. STARING ME IN THE FACE ! He really paid close attention & kept getting closer & closer to the edge of the play center towards my desk & we had a good 20 minutes eyeball to eyeball chat. His head was moving in angles like he was trying to understand more & he showed there is more to him then I could ever imagine. After all that I walked up to him at the play center & he didn't run back or away ... I offered my hand & he jumped up & I placed him in the cage so he could eat ... cause the HEN IS ALWAYS EATING & I SWEAR HE WILL STARVE BECAUSE OF HER !!!!!! I was stunned by this. I felt ... like he gave me a gift. Strange eh ?

I agree with Elly, 100 % especially about the gloves. That's only introducing a new way to scare to him. No gloves. I know biting hurts but try & take it & don't say ouch & never pull back. After a while he will see its not bothering you & he will just stop. Elly's FAQ's about taming your little blue bird should help greatly. It's helped me. I am a better budgie today & can type on the computer better & have stopped biting my girlfriend when she shoves me in the cage at night & slams the door on me. (she won't even kiss me night night & say she loves me ) EVIL HUMAN GIRLFRIEND. Let us know how it goes. I hope your little Bluey will get along great with you again & not be like the other rabid zombie budgies that are chewing their ways through a bunch of others like yourself. And do they all gotta show their sexual aggression thru chewing ? I say we need a " DOCTOR PHIL " ... Doctor Phil of Budgies .... he should set us all straight on what is happening here. I for one am perplexed. But then ... perplexed is a rather large word for me & I'm sure it really means I NEED CAKE. Anyone have an idea where we can get us a link to" Dr Phil the BIRD BRAIN ? " Good luck Juleslou ... don't get to close to the cage. Invest in a large LOCK & Chain to keep the Zombie Budgie contained until help comes.

I was thinking the same ... sherbet might be being overly protective of Fizzy. I know how bad it hurts when they bite. I swore the Weebil removed chunks of skin so big on me he could have made wallets from my flesh. Yesterday, I saw a video of a woman on YouTube & she had a budgie on her hand & it kept trying to bite her. She would say "NO" quite loudly & move her hand up or down in a jerking manner that the budgie was sitting on. The motion made the budgie sit still & pay attention as it didn't want to fall. (It didn't try to fly away either, which freaked me out) I thought she crazy glued the poor bird to her hand to make it stay there. I assumed the budge was wing clipped. Which is about the only way she could have had it sitting on her hand so long. But even thru her teachings I also witnessed the bird still trying to reach down between its feet & bite & the woman again. AGAIN she woulld quickly move her hand up & over or down & say "NO" again loudly. Oddly ... the bird was responding .... I felt bad for the bird, I don't know how much of a problem this bird really is. But this woman was videoing her tutorial & showing us all how she was in control. WHILE SHE WAVED HER FINGER IN THIS POOR BIRDS FACE. Over & Over & Over again. COME ON PRETTY BABY ... BITE MOMMY SO I CAN SHOW PEOPLE I CAN CONTROL YOU ! DUH ... Who knows ... maybe this does work ? Is Sherbet wing clipped ? Can you get him/her/it/ out of the cage at all & go somewhere alone with him/her/it/ alone & one on one work with him/her/it ? for more then 20 minutes or so ? Time is the key to training. I find. But what do I know. I'm new at this too. Being near or seeing or hearing Fizzy can make Sherbet a little more anxious & territorial & show aggression to you. If she/he/it is in another room with you & in a quiet atmosphere away from Fizzy for a while alone with you .... you can try to do some step up & hands on training with praise Sherbet with possitive influence & tone of voice. Showing you are still the dominant BUDGIE mistress ! Good luck. I would love to hear how it goes ... your lovely Sherbet has some TUDE ! A TT I TUDE !

Just read newbie's post ( lovesmybirds ) where he found a cute little hungry blue budgie on his car. He was lucky to catch her & offer her food & shelter & safety. I also notice he is in Australia. So ..... here's where I am confused. I was under the impression that budgies were wild & lived all over parts of Australia. How can you tell a WILD budgie from a budgie that is raised by a breeder ? Is it the eyes ? I know pigeons that are wild & free all have red eyes from their diet. But my pigeons I raised & had in my coop & all had dark eyes & they never turned red. So ... what is it ? How do you know you have a wild budgie or a bred-(breaded ?) (Laughing out loud) Budgie ... other then the leg band.

She's a pretty bird that's for sure. Sounds like she's had an adventure she doesn't want to try again. Excellent rescue & good luck with her. Good thing she landed in your yard on your car ! Some birds have all the luck !

Poopy looks amazing when he is flying ... the color of him/her/it by your camera .... (Laughing out loud) I can't tell what sex any bird is by their names. He looks so different in a close up shot then when he's flying in that picture. Beautiful birds all of them. Great pics.

Ikea ? or HomeSense ? I find better deals & quality at HomeSense ... Ikea has that cheapy wooden assembled stuff that little baby beaks will just chew chew chew ! Pink & blue wallpaper for the walls ? oh ... no ... paper will not do ! chew chew chew ! It will have to be a lovely fresh chemical free paint. Something neutral. Let me see ... Cream white ? Hide away that wood finish & keep the baby beaks from chewing chewing chewing ! I'm sure it will be devine in the end ... but you know what they say. Once you have kids you can't keep anything nice.

They must get some pleasure out of being on a swing. Like in nature being on a branch & the wind blowing it under them. I like seeing them on the swing ... like little ole lady & men birds being old & contented. At least they don't spit tobacco at you.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I never thought anything would work with this tortured little bird. I am so pleased to have gotten this far. I would have been just as happy to have had that horrible screeching stop ... & nothing more. Obviously he showed me there was more to him ... he just needed the chance to show he had something special in him calling out for help. BUT DID HE HAVE TO USE SUCH A LOUD VOICE ? SHEEEESH !!!!!

Backstroke ? or Breaststroke ? swimming in the cereal bowl ... theres a first ! My talking budgie who is no longer with me ... use to say some sweet things. WHO'S YER DADDY ! WHATCHADOIN ? HERE KITTY KITTY ! WOOF WOOF ! KNOCK KNOCK WHO'S THERE .... he didn't quite get that joke. Heh heh. The more emotion & inflection we placed in our voices made him pick up words faster. I won't write the nasty words my g/f at the time use to call me all the time. My little budgie buddy picked that one up real fast & said it as clear as a bell !

There ya go colorama, I'm just like you .... or maybe worse cause I could never part with any of them .... I would be the worst budgie breeder seller in history. People would come over & say, " Oh honey look ... oooh that one's perfect its that one I want ... it will match up perfectly with my XTC non factor skunk opiated popfried budgie with the grey head & orange wings ! " .... & I'd be all ... OH NO YOU DON'T ... YOU AIN'T MAKING NO BUDGIE BOOGIE WOOGIE on my Budgie. She ain't for sale ... I LOVE HER. & then I'd turn the garden hose on them & chase them from the property. So ... ya see .... I'd never let any of them go either. I'd have to keep em all.

Dear Jenene283, Thems is the UGLIEST ALIEN BABYS I EVER SAW IN MY LIFE ! I don't know how something that freaky cute can grow up to be one of the most beautiful birds in the world.
