  1. I know... when my sister told my 3 year old nephew, he said that we will see him again. She was explaining that we can't see him... he replied with 'yes we will mum. When we die and go to heaven, we will see him'
  2. Thanks so much everyone. I took an early flight home from Deb's and was met at the airport by my sisters. We have spent the rest of the day together and I am just home now. I'm totally exhaused. I feel numb and not myself. I went to Mum and Dad's to pick up the car, and went down to where they burried Sammi. I found myself crying and patting the soil on her grave. I miss her so much... She was always there when you needed a hug, and with my grandpa's passing, a great big Sammi hug and lick is what I needed. My parents are up with my grandma and the family. They are sorting out things and the funeral. It will be on Wednesday. They live 4 hours away, but I think we'll be driving up and back in the same day. It's going to be hard, long and very draining... I don't really know what else to say... life can be so cruel... I know they were both sick and are now at peace, but I wasn't ready to say good bye to either...
  3. Oh neat!!!!!! Unfortunately I'm not going to be around, but I'm sure Deb would still love to see you!!!!! (Deb is sitting here telling me to write YES PLEASE!!!!!!!)
  4. Got a call this morning to say that my Grandpa died this morning at 2pm. I'm catching an early flight today at 12.30.
  5. Sorry mate... keep your chin up, it will get better and be worth it in the end
  6. As many of you know, I have a cat who lives at home with my parents. She is 13 years old and was not being herself of late. I considered taking her to the vet before I left to come up to Deb's, but decided against it. I had a call from my sister tonight asking me when I was comming home as Sammi was not looking too good. I called her, and we decided it was best if they took her to the vet. Not long after that my sister called back in tears. They had to put her down She had kidney failure, ulcers in her mouth and through her body. The vet didn't think she had been suffering for too long. My sister held her whilst they did it and she didn't struggle at all... My sister said she looked at peace and was happy to let go... :hap: So... I'm feeling pretty upset. Mum and Dad will bury her tomorrow morning in the garden and I'll say a special goodbye when I get home. I know she had a great life, and there wouldn't have been anything I could have done if I was there... It's just hard. I did give her a big kiss and cuddle before I left, but wish I could have been there for her tonight. Well, that's all from me for now. Just wanted to share this with you all... maesie xoxo Sammi... Love you!!! (on a side note, also got told my Grandpa, who has been sick was taken to hospital tonight as well. He is not good and may not make it throught the night... mmm... )
  7. ??????? I wouldn't be encouraging the biting. This will make her think it is a game, and then in future when she wants to play with you she WILL BITE YOU! You'd be sending the wrong signals.
  8. They're so sweet Kaz... looking very nice too
  9. We did!!! Neat couldn't make Friday (she had the kids), but am pretty sure she's child free on Monday to come just as far as Deb's house :hap:
  10. VERY!!!!!!!!!
  11. Maesie here for herself!!! :hap: I am having a really great time with Deb and her family. Since arriving Tuesday night, we have been shopping a few times, went to her oldest daughters school concert, been up to visit Jenene (as mentioned in the other post), played board games, watched movies and as Deb wrote, we went 4WDriving today. I have never been before, and as it's 34ish today, it was lovely... Very warm and sunny but a nice breeze. We have some plans for the coming days, including Neat's visit. I must admit, time is flying but it has been great. Deb, her husband and their beautiful kids have made me feel very welcome, and just like part of the family. I'll post some photos when I get home... although I've been to busy to take many! That's about all from me for now. I hope you aren't missing me toooooooo much :hap: maesie xo
  12. Excellent!!! :hap:
  13. Awesome photos as per usual! Budgie of the month again :hap:

  15. Would have been even better if you had've been able to join us Neat. Maesie forgot her white glove and she forgot to check the lounges. (Lucky she didnt cause I didnt get round to doing them!) :hap: ...
  16. Sorry mate... big hugs xoxo Best of luck with the other two! :budgiedance:
  17. Deb and I have just arrived home. It was so nice to meet Jenene after speaking on the forum for so long. Her handreared cockatiels are soooooo cute and very hungry!!! We had a wonderful time chating, looking at her amazing avairies and having lunch. Thanks for a lovely day and look forward to further meeting in the future. (P.S. Lucy had a nice BIG sleep on the way home too :budgiedance: )
  18. Excellent news... and I'm glad you have got some answers. I bet he was happy to see you!
  19. maesie here for Deb (couldn't be bothered logging out and back in) Roxy is on NEST MATE. The only details on th packet says protein 21%, Crude Fat 17%, Crude Fibre 3% and min salt 0.5%. No other information is listed... so how do you know what vitamins it contains???
  20. Sorry to hear about this littler battler. I have no experience with hand rearing, but from what I've heard it's very hard to raise them from hatching. In my last clutch I had a chick get stuck in the egg and it also died. I agree, it is very hard and upsetting. Biggest hugs to you. I hope someone can give you more advice. Good luck
  21. We don't hate you!! You come on here asking for assistance, we give it and you ignore most of it. Breeding budgies is NOT A MONEY MAKING HOBBY! As to you saying you receive rarely any positive comments... we are all giving you advice and assistance AND encouragement, it's not my fault you don't like what we are saying! Why did you join if you're not interested in our help????
  22. Answers to your questions; lol! 1) the box isnt that secure but if i see it on the ground i will make it secure. Not the greates plan... to WAIT for it to fall! 2) I get inside the cage by opening it from the bottom, the birds don't escape because they love me. lol! Regardless of this, they can still fly out. I know people who have had hens fly out of an aviary WITH chicks in her nest box... never to return again!!!!! 3)I love budgies and i want to see there cycle. Also i would like abit of cash from it. =) GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!!!!! will he birds breed regardless of age, as i dnt no ho old they are also. Can they like dis-like each other as we humans do? I know you're really excited about having birds and want to breed them, but I'd highly recomend you wait until you have your cage set up (following our advice), wait until your birds are old enough (if you don't know how old they are, wait another year), and you have read up and learnt about breeding. There is a lot to know!!!

Thanks for all your help along the way. It was nice to meet you and get to know you a little 'online' I wish you all the best in whatever life has in store for you. Thanks for making the forum what it is today and for all of your hard work. Big hugs of support maesie xoxox (I hope to see you pop in every now and then)
  24. Oh mate... so sorry for your loss. Big hugs xoxo
  25. Put them in now. Most hens will throw most if not all out. You just keep replacing it. Once the eggs hatch, they usually don't worry about getting rid of it, but you'll have to replace it often as the chicks will poo LOTS!!!!
