Nope... the white in the baby's crop is crop milk from the mother. You'll be able to tell if it's empty. The baby is probably due for another feed that is why there is not much in there. Keep an eye on it... you may need to top it up.

Opposite the unit I live in (next to my carport) there is a tree stump cut off at ground level. It was cut down before I moved in. It has started to sprout from the side and I want to know if it's okay to feed them to my budgies. They look and smell like normal Eucalyptus shoots, and I'm pretty sure they'll be okay. I figure that if the stump had have been poisoned they wouldn't be growing... Thoughts???

Regardless of your choice... you still need to get him to a vet.

I feel for you mate. It always pays to have money saved up for situations like this. Can you ask a neighbor of friends Mum to drive you... If he is STILL blowing bubbles, it's not good. Some vets let you pay off bills if you can't afford it.

I agree with LIV. And when you take him back to vet... tell them everything that has been going on, even if you don't think it matters. They can't help him if they don't know. Good Luck.

My preference would be to always buy from a breeder if I could... but that is just me. Where abouts in Australia are you? Maybe someone on here could help you out. Always remember to quarantine your new budgie from your current one.

Often medication going down the wrong way means he breathed in when you were giving it too him, and it went into his lungs instead of his crop... hence bubbles. It's a tough one. I'm not experienced in this so I'll have to leave the rest up to the others. My only suggestion (other a lesson in crop needles) would be to try and give him a little bit at a time... try not to over do it as that's when they get stressed and breath in. Good Luck and I hope others can help you more. Also, next time you're at the vet, get them to show you how to use a crop needle. A great asset to learn.

My 'guess' is the medication went down the wrong way. The only way to avoid this would be to administer them via crop needle, but you'd need someone to show you how to do this. Good luck mate.
