  1. Oh... poor little poppet. I'm sure she'll find her way in time
  2. Oh... very, very cute! Congratulations on your newbie :(Laughing out loud):
  3. Agree there... I wouldn't give them that everyday... but two trees each every now and then should be okay!
  4. Great stuff good on you... What are you going to spend your $146 on?
  5. Great to see them in the avairy. Looks like they're loving the extra space already. As for Phoebe, she may become stresses and end up sick, or she may get used to being there and be okay. When I introduced Tweet Tweet to my avairy (he was found in the backyard), I put his cage (after 30 days of quarintine) into the avairy, so he could check things out. After a few days, I opened the door and let him do what he wanted. He often went back inside, esp at night. The cage was in the avairy for nearly two weeks. He seemed to adjust quite well, and is now wooing all the girls . I hope all goes well with her. You have some really pretty colors there too!
  6. They are great photos! Very pretty looking birds.
  7. What a cutie! I'm sure if you trim wings and nails, the beak would be no problem for you. Good Luck!
  8. Any news? I hope the little guy made it.
  9. Oh no... That's horrible. I hope she pulls through. Please keep us up to date on her condition.
  10. I'm still reading! Sebby sounds like she's powering along for an old girl (last time breeding)... go girlfriend! Milly sounds like she's going to be a good mum... although her 'kids' might not think so when she won't let them go off and play with their friends without her  Angels' 3 is great news. Hope she lays a few more... and Tralia... come on girl, you have some catching up to do!!!
  11. Good luck with it... try in on a tooth pick or something similar, putting a little just inside his beak (hopefully he'll want it)... and remmeber to warm it a little

  13. Thanks for sticking around maesie..... I guess I'll just have to see if he makes it through the night. If so I'll take him to the vet first thing and go from there. Divine Order. No probs... I added to my previous post re food ideas... runny weetbix or yoghurt (both warmed).
  14. I'm not sure what you can feed him. As Kaz said, he needs to be crop fed, which a vet could do for you tomorrow, if he makes it through the night. I've done a quick look through posts in the breeding section and came up with this... weetbix (soggy with warm water) or yoghurt. Both need to be warm so the chick doesn't get chilled. I've never used either so mayb wait to see what others say... but it might get your little guy through the nite...
  15. Not sounding too good  ... Try putting him down your top (against your skin to warm him up) Try dripping some warm water into his beak...
  16. Oh... she is adorable
  17. Good on you Dennis for giving this guy a chance at life. Here's a few links to the FAQ's that might help you: Handrearing budgies: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...&artlang=en Handfeeding baby budgies: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...&artlang=en Building a Hospital cage: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...&artlang=en (this could be used to keep the little fella in...with a possible nest type thing for it to sit in?) The keel bone is down the front of the budgie... down the chest... it should not be sharp and prominant (this means it's underweight). Poop should be black/white, it should not dirty it's vent (bottom), it should be solid and not runny. Also, it's very important to keep this new boy away from your own budgie. It may be sick and you wouldn't want your budgie getting sick also.
  18. Yep... all VERY normal! Give him some extra love.
  19. Hi and welcome. I'd love to hear about your current setup and ideas, so then we will be able to assist you with your questions. You can also check out this link: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...=show&cat=7 This should answer many of your questions. Feel free to ask anything else you'd like to know.
  20. Absolutely. They love them. Give them a whole branch... bark, leaves etc... Just make sure you clean it with warm water and that it hasn't been sprayed with anything. They'll rip the bark off and eat the leaves. Mine also like Grivella, Bottlebrush and other native trees.
  21. I have tears... So very true Kaz! At 6mths old, his life had only just begun. Life can be so cruel.

Hello and welcome! What a little cutie. Not sure of gender though. Your pictures are really cute. If you'd like to add the pictures directly into your post without having to follow a link, you can resize them in photo bucket to 320x240 (website, email). To do this click on edit above the photo you want to change, then the resize tab... this will drop down and provide you with several options. You can also upload your photos in this size to begin with. In the top right hand corner (above where you browse for your pics) there is a heading: max image size. Change this to 320x240 website, email. This way all the images you upload will be this size and can be imported straight into our forum. From here, to add your picture to your post, copy and paste the IMG code... and wella. Your image will appear in your post and be the correct size. :(Laughing out loud):

I personally wouldn't house different species together. I prefer to keep mine separate, to avoid any problems... especailly as I work during the day and can't keep an eye on them. If anything was to happen, it would be too late by the time I got home from work. I know many members do have mixed avairys, but all birds are different and it would depend on what they are!
  24. I'd just like to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who has given me and my family so much support over the last few weeks. I have been overwhelmed by your love, support, best wishes, prayers and virtual hugs. I have received many PM from members who I know quite well and even those I don't. They have helped me to cope with this very difficult time in my life. I didn't know Archie at all, but being part of our extended family, it's very close to home. You feel very helpless as there is nothing you can do to make their pain go away. You offer support, love and comfort... but nothing ever seems enough. It has been a very emotion and draining few weeks. You have all helped me through this time. I can never express how greatfull I am. I'd like to finish this with a few pieces from the Funeral Booklet... maesie xxx Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened. Beyond the world as we know it, there is a place where we will all meet again, where we never have to say Good-bye.
