  1. Awsome Chrysocome! It looks like you've put in some hard work already. I can't wait to see them all finished and in our FAQ's. Please let me, or any other Mods know if we can be of any assistance. :(Laughing out loud):
  2. :yellowhead: Those photos are just too cute!!! I love your running commentary as well Chrysocome!!! (Laughing out loud)...
  3. Thanks for that. Sounds like they need to have a man to man chat, over a quiet beer of course
  4. I'm not good with this sort of stuff, so I'll leave it for someone else to answer... but BOTH of your budgies are very, very, adorable
  5. Adorable!!! Their colours are comming along nicely... Exciting isn't it :(Laughing out loud):
  6. Great news! Looks like you're going to be kept quite busy! Can I ask a somewhat silly question . What makes hens lay different sized eggs? Is it different hens? I had a hen who laid some big and some small. Does it depend on if the egg is fertile etc... Thanks!
  7. I have this image in my head of you walking down the hallway with a mass of budgies approaching you... and, them waiting at the end of the hall for you to come and saying.."she's comming, are we all ready, on a count of three... three, two, one.... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
  8. Earl is gorgeous... and those babies just divine. They are too cute.

Looks great Deb. They wouldn't know themselves :(Laughing out loud):
  10. Any ideas when we can expect to see one in our FAQ section, since my worry is that even this time we may miss this out like earlier. So thought of following up and will keep following on this. If some one directs me, then probably I can privately be in touch with the concerned person. Moderators please feel free to let me know if I could be helpful in some way or the other in preparing this. Congrats Libby, Maesie and Birdluv and happy to see you all as Global Moderators. Thanks for the congratulations! Additons into the FAQ's can take time (depending on what they are and if we have the info already to go) . We will work on getting something in there.
  11. 'drum roll...........' I'm starting a new monthly competition! AVIAN ARTICULATION This is how it's going to work... Every month I will post a 'word'. It is your task to use it in a sentence in relation to your birds. I'll give you an example: TRIANGLE An anguement was brewing in the avairy about who was going to have to play the triangle in the upcomming musical, Pricilla, Queen of the Avairy. As you can see, you can use any meaning of the word. You can also use variations of the word... triangular etc... The meaning of the word won't be included, it's up to you to look it up if you don't know what it means. Try to be as creative/funny as possible and at the end of each month a winner will be decided (via voting or judging). As February is already halfway through, I thought I'd post an easy word for you all to practice. (I wont be announcing a winner) The February AVIAN ARTICULATION word is: "BUNKUM" ... I look forward to seeing the results!
  12. I'm sorry about the issue with your budgie. Watch him carefully (esp if there are any more signs of sickness) Budgies hide their illness' very well, so if you notice anything, it's more than likely been around for a long time. Best of luck and let us know how you go.
  13. Nice pairs... now the wait is on.
  14. Very cute budgie there, despite it's lack of feathers...I like both of your name ideas . I'll throw one in the hat for good measure: NORBIT
  15. Nice pair Kaz... It is a real shame flecking is not desired!!! I love it . I can't wait to see the results. I hope their journey runs smoothly.
  16. I feel for you . It must be terribly hard to know she wont be around for ever. Your courage and willingness to give her the life (however short it may be) that she deserves is to be commended! She is one very lucky budgie! I'm glad her appetite, spirit and manner haven't changed. I believe she knows how much you love her, and knows how much you're doing for her. My thoughts are with you both... xoxoxo
  17. Some people just don't know talent when they hear it. Sad isn't it! And as to not having company in the bathroom when you shower... I guess it depends on who it is really ... Back to topic... All of my hens have sat straight away also. I'm glad your girls did the same. So the count down is on, 9 days it is.
  18. Mayb the no singing in the shower is a good thing! 18 days for an egg to hatch is usually from the time the hen starts to sit on them, so if she sat straight away, the 24th it is!
  19. Sounds like all is going well. I'm glad you survived Year 7 camp!!!

I can see the picture Kaz, but when I click on the picture(think it's meant to be a link to throwback's site ) it says error, and wont let me view anything...
  23. Great photos there... Sorry about the loss of one of your babies, but good luck witht the other two

Can't get access again... says File not found!
  25. I hope so too. You have been given good advice, so fingers crossed for you and your hen. I had a hen who had problems laying (she was about 2 1/2 years old). She became egg bound and then destroyed her eggs. With a lot of TLC and an avian vet near by, she pulled through. The advice I received from this forum was fantastic. I removed her nest box and I think she laid another 3-4 eggs (which dropped on the ground) and she hasn't had any problems since, nor laid any more eggs. I hope your experience ends the way mine did! Be sure to give her lots of vegies and keep her busy (new toys/foraging toys) Good Luck!
