  1. This is the only rubber toy/item I use in the avairy. My budgies and Tiels love it. I don't have any concerns with it or them chewing bits off, but I always check it and will dispose of it if and when it shows damage.
  2. I did some pruning of our Bottlebrush today (in preparation of letting some more winter sun into the avairy), and I gave the budgies and tiels a massive branch each. I agree with all the above comments. They LOVED them. It was really hard to see them as they were hiding amongst the leaves. Last check before night fall, there were still many leaves and bark, but I'm guessing in the morning it wont be the case. It's great that it keeps them busy and keeps my ***** male budgies (2 males to 4 females) minds off giving my Hens unwanted attention.
  3. Mine all do it. Below is a photo of my last clutch (few years ago now), not long after they fledged... names from left to right: John, Paul, George and Ringo It's very cute when they all do it... esp all lined up like this!

Hi and welcome to the forum. Billi and Oscar are very sweet. As is their little one. Can I ask did Billi lay in the Basket you have in the pics? I've never seen that with budgies before, as they usually use nest boxes. Also, how many eggs did she lay? Did the others just not hatch? I'm sure you learn heaps here... check out Budgie FAQ's, esp the breeding section. It has a lot of usefull info. Also remember, ask anything you want, as no question is ever silly Welcome again!
  6. Nice pairs. Good luck with them...I hope they behave
  7. Hello and welcome to the forums. I'd be watching him carefully for other signs of 'illness'. His tumble may cause other symptoms, so watch our for a dirty/pooie bottom etc... f this is the case, this, as other members have said, could be why he can't fly properly. Also check he's eating, drinking and behaving as normal... Please keep us updated
  8. I've never seen budgies like that before. They are stunning!
  9. They may be small, but it doesn't take long to grow very attached to them! You'll have to visit 'your parents' more often :(Laughing out loud): . I'm sure he'll miss you too...
  10. Liv... (((((((hugs)))))) for you and your family. Whitie has been a tough old thing right to the end. Bless her. :angel1:
  11. Good luck with her. Put her in a little cage inside if she needs it. Bless her, she's had a great life, and she'll know when her time is up. Then she'll let go. Until then, she'll keep bouncing back.
  12. I hope all goes well. You might need to watch out for your other budgies, as she might terrorise them!!! (Laughing out loud)... Good luck with the introductions and let us know how she goes.
  13. Mort (RIP), is the mother of 5 of my 6 current budgies (two clutches). Seen here with Snap(front), Crackle (bottom on the left) and Pop (under the wing).
  14. Karen, Do I leave the chick with its parents then, till its old enough to breed ?? Thanks Sandra.. The chick can be removed from its parents once it can crack seed and feed on its own.
  15. Hello, the Budgie was born on the 30/1/08, and it hasn't come out of the nest box yet. Its crop seems to be full though, so its having no trouble being fed. Thank you for your answers. That's good, but being fed by it's mother and father and cracking seed and eating on it's own are two very different things. Good luck and I hope it grows out over time.
  16. :hap: Great photos!

  19. They are all very, very cute Lib. Good Job!
  20. Brilliant!!! You should be very proud of all your hard work. I'm sure they're going to love their new house :parrot:
  21. Oh Kaz... I hope your daughter is okay. Good on you for being there for her. Families are really important, especially during times of illness. Bless you. Depression is very difficult for the sufferer and the family (I know from experience). Give her lots of hugs from me!!! and some for you too Kaz. I really hope things work out for her, and you!
  22. mmm, tough one there Bec... catch 22 I guess. Can you put her quarentine cage where another one is (so she can't see the avairy?)... Good Luck on your decision. xxx

What a brilliant idea. It's going to be MASSIVE!!! I hope you get to start it very soon... please post pictures as you do it.
  24. You've been given some good advice thus far. Do they let you scratch their heads? You could try giving them millet and a scratch... then reducing the amount of time they have the millet for and increasing the scratching. Good luck anyway, and please keep us updated. :bluebudgie:
