Hi Kim and Benny. What a cutie. Clipping wings does help with taming but it's a personal choice. Spend lots of time with your head and hand close to the cage talking to him, then with your hand in the cage. You'll get there eventually. Some budgies can take longer then others to come around. Good luck and keep us updated.
  4. okay... um, If he was mine, I'd prob get him to a vet for a check up. That's just me and I worry about things like that. As I said before, it could just be an affectionate thing, or it could be the start of something. Better to be safe than sorry I say. They could do a crop wash to check out that there is nothing nasty is going on. BUT, the choice is yours. As I'm sure you're well aware, they often don't show signs of illness until they are quite unwell. Fingers crossed he just loves you!
  5. What a darling. So very, very sweet. Congratulations on your newest family member.
  6. Mine used to do this when they were sick just after I gave them their meds. Is he actually bringing something up? Any other signs of illness or not being quite right? It may also be him showing you his affection?? Hard to say. Any more info?

A bird or two Good luck with that!!!!! lol. I've never been to one, but I've heard they are very addictive and you'll find it hard to stop at a few. I'll leave the advice for those who have been to them. Have fun, enjoy and bring home some sweeties!
  8. Welcome back... you have been missed. I'm really excited for you about your new addition. You husband is a sweetie to do that for you. Happy looking, deciding and picking and I can't wait to see your new friend.

  10. I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope you don't loose any more birds from what ever caused it. I used to have a blind/cover I used to put on half my aviary, during the colder months, but I found they used to sleep on the uncovered section, so I now don't bother. I agree that they manage to look after themselves. Good luck and bigs hugs to you.

  17. HE is adorable!!! And, I'm guessing he loves you and is maybe wanting your attention. Can you ignore him? If you can, he will prob grow out of it if he realises you are not paying attention to him when he bites you. Good luck and keep us updated.

Try getting a new bowl in the same colour as the old one... looking as similar as possible. It may help him adjust to the new bowl and take to his old veggies.
