  1. LUCK!!!!! Hope all goes well with your guys and girls.
  2. Oh no, how scary! I had an egg bound hen- Ringo. I couldn't get to the vet that night, so I put her in a hospital cage and tried the calcivet. She started bleeding from the vent too. I ended up sitting her vent in a warm container of water and GENTLY massaged her. (Do not try this if you don't know what you are doing as it can end very badly). My situation was that I had to get her through the night somehow and she would have died if I didn't try something. It worked and a vet check the next morning gave her the all clear. She laid several more eggs after that now worries, but then destroyed them. I haven't let her breed since then. I hope she continues to improve
  3. Definately a budgie with 'issues'... but hey, don't we all have them . I'm glad she's stopped her nesting behaviour, and I hope she continues on improving.
  4. = one!!!! :hap: This afternoon after work I checked out Crackle's nest box and wham bam thank you mum!!! We have an egg. I'm very excited. After my peek I left her to it as I don't want to bother her. She must have laid it today as it wasn't there this morning. She has been spending a lot of time in their so I knew it was comming. She has actually decided to leave some of the shavings in the box which is great. What a great day!
  5. You are always in my thoughts! xoxo Lucas is such a brave, stong and beatiful boy. You must be so proud of him and what he has gone through. You too must take credit for the strenght, courage and love you have given him during this time. Bless you all and biggest hugs from me and my family

  20. Thanks everyone. Crackle has been spending some time in the nest box, but nothing as yet. I'm just really hoping they got some action before she retreated there, and something comes from the eggs (if some are laid) TT seems pretty happy eating and feeding her. So... fingers crossed for some results. :hap:

  24. Hey... that's exciting for you. Males and Females housed together 'shouldn't' lay eggs and have babies if they don't have anywhere to lay them. Shouldn't being the key word... Two females together should be fine... I wouldn't see a problem with it. If I was in your positition, I would get the same sex, but that's just me. As to the introducion, I think there is some info in the FAQ's on it. Maybe do a search there. After the 30 days quarantine in different room/air space, I'd then move their cages into the same room, then start to allow them some out of cage time together. You could then allow them to come and go from each others cages as they please. It will be a matter of seeing how they go. Some budgies will get along like a house on fire, and some will not. In time you could house them in the same cage as long it is big enough, but take things slowly and let them decide when it's time.
