    What a handsome young BOY!!!
  2. It is surprising how many muscles you actually have... but you never seem to know they are there until they are aching!! Have yourself a nice hot bath and a beer! Sounds like you deserve it. Good work!

Yah... I love new aviaries.... what I'd do: concrete the base, have power and water, those seed dishes sound fab, um... that's all I can think of now...

I'd agree... normal baby behaviour. He has so much energy :(Laughing out loud): That video makes me dizzy! (Laughing out loud). Your set up looks great too.
  5. Great minds think alike :rip:
  6. Some news finally... he made it through the operation okay. They removed the tumor and he is okay at the moment. We wont know the results of the lump until they send it off... but at the moment... all is okay. Thanks all for your prayers and warm wishes... he must have heard them.
  7. Henry... love it. You're also very good at photography... esp of your birds. You should enter one of your pics in this months Budgie of the Month...
  8. mmm :rip: . If I were you you, I would hold off on the re-cilp until the avain vet you like comes back. This other vet obviously has no idea what they are doing or they would have done it right the first time. I'd be worried about them doing damage and more stress to your little fella. AND, as he is only new and young, you could just use that two weeks time to tame him in his cage and get him used to you and your voice. That's just me... but you do what you feel is best. You could also look for another vet if their is one around. Good luck mate!
  9. I can only imagine the noise issues you have!!! My 6 budgies and 2 tiels make plenty of noise and they are outside. Good luck with finding a solution, but I must warn you... if you get an aviary, get a big one as I'm sure you'll get some extras to fill it :rip:
  10. :feedbirds: Yeah...........
  11. I work all day are aren't able to keep an eye on my birds. Because of colony breeding, many of my hens have lost the ends of their toes and I've spent plenty of time cleaning up blood. I did however breed my first clutch in my avairy, but apart from Mum and Dad there was only one other budgie who was male and I didn't have any problems with it. I'd do what ever you feel comfortable with, and if you've havn't had trouble with it in the past... go for it.
  12. Thanks everyone. No news yet but I'll let you all know when I know. Indz... that is just beautiful, and although I have tears, it was very sweet of you to post it. Thank You

    What a nice surprise!
  14. I have UV lights in my reptile cages but wouldn't have thought you'd need them for your birds... esp if they spend time in an outside aviary when they're not breeding.
  15. Hey... what a cutie. I hope everything works out for the little one. My first thought was male... but I could be wrong. BUT I do agree he looks younger than you were told.
  16. Keep it up... great stuff! It's also helpful when you have willing participants
  17. In my limited experience with tiels....they are both net and STEEL GLOVE material YEP, YEP!!!!! I hear you and so do my misshapen fingers...
  18. Hey luv... For worming etc... I add it to the water, but for spot on ivermectin I catch them with a net. They don't like it as they aren't tame, but it's less stressful than chasing them with my hands. Sometimes I can catch the budgies with my hands but the tiels are definatley NET material!!!
  19. Will do Neat... and thanks Chrys.
  20. You are doing it right... daily. You can blow the seed husks off the top and fill, or just get rid of the left over seed and fill with new seed.

    ... or those red mites!!!
  22. Thanks Deb, KAZ and Neat for your prayers and group hug... My tears are just never ending at the moment and it worries me that's I'm about to go overseas... I hope nothing happens... I'm trying to think positive, but it's hard at times like this.
  23. So, I have an update on my Grandpa. For those new to the thread, this is the start on the 'grandpa' bit... Well, after appointments with many speacialist, they decided it was best to go ahead with surgery. Today, he had a colonoscopy (sp??) in preparation for this. Unfortunately they found a tumor in his right large bowel (Bowel cancer). He is booked in for surgery tomorrow at 11am. It's risky for someone his age and we don't even know anything about what will happen after yet...I'm in shock... I don't know what to say, I just needed to share with someone... I also had a horrible day at work and this was just a horrible way to end the day... Don't really know what to say.... um, yeah.... Thanks... time to cry again
  24. So sorry for your loss. I hope your hen manages okay and I hope you can keep us updated on their progress...
  25. Yah, exciting stuff... happy building Daz!
