Cleaning Cage-buying A New Budgie
This is NOT good. I'd be doing something about this cage. Just because he didn't get stuck this time, doesn't mean he wont next time... and you might not be around to save him. They shouldn't be able to get their heads out of their cages. P.S. I have sent you a personal message (PM).

Hatching?
Thanks maesie It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow! She is a maiden hen so I'm worried that she may not be able to handle it! Any time. Have you got some other hens to foster her chicks or eggs too? 9 is a lot for a first timer... regardless of when they hatch. Keep us updated on how she goes.

Hatching?
Sometimes the hen doesn't sit on the eggs right from the get go. This in turn means the babies don't start to grow until they get incubated... so it is possible that this happened and therefor they are hatching daily. Some members have also had multiple chicks hatch on the one day for this reason. Hope that makes some sort of sense... :budgiedance:

What Does My Ring Mean?
I'm wondering if he escaped from the breeder and they didn't try and find him. Or he got sold to someone and he escaped from them. I just know when I found him I didn't get any responses other than from a lady who said she'd have him if no one else claimed him. I'm glad I decided to keep him!

Breeding Early 2008.... With Updates
Atleast the birds were behaving. As to your appliances... they don't make them like they used to!

What Does My Ring Mean?
Thanks Feathers and DAZ. He was not happy being held and was wiggling his leg a lot so it may well be that. I tried breeding him in Nov and he and his 'wife' had 6 eggs but she left them and they didn't survive. It was her first time and she could see other breeding pair and was quite distracted. I think I also checked on her and the eggs too much as I was having ant problems so extra cleaning was needed. (naughtly me!!! ) I'm thinking of setting up the breeding cage in my newly expanded bird room and giving them another go when I get back from Bali. Even if he was one of their culled budgies, I'm sure he'd produce some nice looking chicks. It would be also nice to have some more green in my aviary as apart from him I only have grey's and blues... Thanks all for your help. I'll try and contact him and see if I can find out where he's from and any history on him. Cheers all xxx
